Take for example the t-shirt that I own. It carries the worded message “No love life, no problem”.

The message on the shirt is a direct appeal to the pathos of a person who understands the travails and burdens that come with having a love life while trying to balance everything else in your life. The t-shirt tries to appeal to their sense of self-preservation, self-interest, sense of identity, and emotions as well.
