Summary and Critical Response: Working at McDonald’s Summary In “Working at McDonald’s,” Amitai Etzioni argues that working in fast food chains, of which McDonald’s holds a pioneering status, is not good nor educational for the youngsters these days. Etzioni claims that while working in fast food chains may seem to be beneficial at first as teenagers ought to learn to be self-reliant, productive and has the drive to be productive; it can, however, subvert their attendance and involvement in school in the long run.
