Leadership cause and effect The power to make sound decisions is the most important aspect of a good leader. As a leader you make decisions which may have positive or negative impact on the organization you are leading. It takes courage and a very strong will of a leader to be able to make decisions but also to deal with situations that arise after making those decisions.Cause refers to an emanation point, the source or the point in space where something originates. Effect on the other hand refers to the receipt point which receives a flow of some kind and is affected by it.

Great leaders are able to expand their intentions into causes. Most leaders desire to bring many positive and wholesome trends into the world. These could lead to improvement of our social status and even the business enterprises that they head. The most vital step that they need to take in order to achieve this is being wise and visionary leaders in all aspects of life. For their actions to be effective wherever they go, they need to invest in integrity of actions and thoughts. The leaders need to take a position of mindful awareness and should have proper knowledge on how to respond from awareness instead of pure uniformed reaction.

This helps to make their sub-ordinates to feel recognized, highly valued and affirmed (Stephen 2001).Mindfulness provides clarity and calmness in all situations enabling one to avoid panic and blaming others. It allows one to tolerate the discomfort of confrontation enabling discovery of one’s creativity and resourcefulness to be able to approach situations differently from how you would have earlier done.On another aspect, leadership refers to getting someone do what they do not want to do in order to achieve what they want to achieve (Tom,L. 2008).It’s characterized by a leader and a follower whereby the leader entices the follower to do something that he would not otherwise do without leadership.

The effect mostly requires the cause. This is because people do things that they would otherwise not do because it is their job, they’re paid for doing it or they are not afraid to do it. Other times they will do it because they want to annoy and disappoint their leaders, mentors or relatives, because others are doing it or if it’s their area of interest. It’s not possible to equate all these to leadership since everyone who is in control of the cause can use it at will. There are many reasons as to why people do things that they might otherwise not do therefore looking at leadership as the sole cause is irrational.

In reality, cause and effect mentality is far from the world situation in actual sense. Any positive change must be motivated by a leader(s).we read books of past successful leaders and try to implement what they actually did. What was suitable to them may however not be suitable or lead to our success as they did. Thus the most real and important aspect of leadership is relationships. Individual actions matter but they are an overall convergence of relationships in the entire universe. Leaders cannot change their organizations by mere/sole observance of these individual actions.

There is need to realize that our actions are intertwined with those of other people/factors in order to sustain ourselves in this unpredictable universe. It’s only leaders who put into consideration of the dynamics around the working environment and are sensitive to relationships affecting them who end-up successful. This means that what we are remains constant but the world around us keeps on changing. It’s not what we see and do that counts but how new see and respond to relationships that affect our actions.

We need to adopt changes in the relationships since they are more critical that just cause and effect. There are no leaders in classic assumption but all are based on relationships (Stephen 2001).ReferenceStephen. and Richard, J.The nature of organizational leadership: Understanding the performance imperatives confronting today’s leaders. John Wiley & Sons, 2001, Print.
