Parents are our most valuable possessions. Our parents not only nourish us, but they also nurture our personalities. As soon as we start to gain a sense of the world, parents become our ideals. We copy them in every walk of life. We move like them, we talk like them, and we interact with the people they socialize with. In other words, we tend to cultivate the qualities we like in our parents in our own personalities. Likewise, I idealized my mom ever since I came to recognize her.
