? Assignment Laptops and net books are extremely handy today because most people prefer to be on the move and have a portable workstation from where they can get done with their work. However, today, the world is spoilt for choice and there are a number of available options for people to choose from; there are Macs created by Apple, net books by companies like Samsung and HP, and PCs created by Microsoft. All these computers have both pros and cons and it becomes difficult to evaluate which one is best suited for a particular individual. Further provided is a comparison as well as contrast among the different types of computers available for the purpose of buying them for the members of an organization. Keywords: laptop, computer, Mac, PC Assignment It is a very difficult task to find out which personal computer would best suit the needs of a person; it depends on the kind of work an individual needs to accomplish. When buying personal computers for an entire organization, it would be pertinent to first understand the tasks for which the computer is required for every individual. If basic software tools like Word and Excel sheets are required, then it would be better to go for a cheaper personal computer with basic configuration as opposed to an organization that would make use of high end software programs and would require a smarter and faster computer which would respond to the specific needs. It becomes quite a task for someone who is not well versed with computers to actually choose what will be the best buy; every computer comes laden with a number of specifications, configurations as well as technical decisions that one must make in order to select the best possible investment; there are a number of issues including the space in the RAM, hard disk, type of processor, graphics card etc to pick that may end up confusing someone. In the market currently, there are a few best computers that will best suit the needs of an organization. The computers must work in tandem with one another and make it easy to share files and documents within the organization in order to get the work done faster. (Botella, A) One of the computers is the iMac, created by Apple Computers. Apple Computers is best renowned for its sophisticated taste in creating digital products that completely enhance the experience that a user has. These computers are thus favored by people because they are not only smooth in terms of operations but are also very classy to look at and work with. The iMac 21.5 inch computer has an excellent screen with wonderfully displayed graphics (HD 6750M) which enables people to play video games, watch movies and videos, as well as view photographs beautifully. The computer also comes with a built in camera of 720 pixels which enables the user to make use of Face Time software assisting people to video call each other within the office. If an office has a number of these computers, people can easily stay in connect with each other through video calls; furthermore, it also becomes easier to have video conferences with people living in different states and countries. On the downside however, what sets the iMac apart from other personal computers is merely its suaveness. Most people that use the iMac, do so when they have to deal with graphic work and the use of high resolution displays; apart from that, it is very expensive and thus if the firm does not have too much money to spend, then choosing the iMac as a computer for every desk would prove to be a very expensive task. (Mac vs PC - Pros & Cons Comparison Review) The Dell Inspiron One 2320 is one of the sought after computers at present as well. It is considered to be an all-in-one computer and has been taking over big firms and organizations as a favorite. The best part about this computer is the touch screen – it comes with a portable mouse as well as a screen that one can constantly poke and prod, giving it a very laptop like personal feel. It thus becomes easier to sift through documents and files, photos and websites by simply touching the screen, very similar to that of a tablet or an iPad. The screen display is also very exciting, enabling users to have an excellent experience. Furthermore, it also possesses the Sandy Bridge Core i5 processor which makes the computer one of the speediest till date. The only con that one can think of related to this computer would be the price – it is a tad bit up-scaled however if the firm can afford it, then there is nothing like it. If price is a problem, then the organization can also go for the Pentium processor model called the MSI Wind Top AE2210 which is priced at almost 200 GBP lesser. The computer also supports blu-ray and this makes it even more efficient because it can be used during conferences to plug into a projector and play videos and films at an enhanced level, making the other employees jealous. (Williams, M., & Grabham, D) The third computer on the list is the Acer Aspire Z5763 which is a complete entertainment package; if the organization has entertainment based needs, then this computer fits the bill like nothing else. It is extremely slim and handy to use, very user friendly; it has a 23 inch entertainment system with a 1080p resolution screen that makes people want to stay glued to the screen all day. The best part about the computer is also the 3-D support system that comes along with it, making viewing videos and films a very exciting aspect of the day. On the downside however, the computer is simply for entertainment and nothing else; it does not make sense to spend so much money if the firm’s needs are based only on simple tasks using simple software. Also, the computer’s processor has been reported as being weak and thus not capable enough to support heavy chores. Three very exciting personal computers have been discussed within the scope of this paper with their own unique features. However judging by the pros and cons of the three, the best suited computer for an organization would be the Dell Inspiron because it not only suits the costs but also the type of work that the firm would require to do. It is best for both menial as well as entertainment type work and thus is the best choice out of the three, with a strong processor to back itself. References Botella, A. (2011, September 7).
