No: Three Elements of Sustainable design Due to the industrial revolution in the pastfew decades, the problem of the environmental pollution and the emissions of the green house gases rose to the certain higher level. The only method to make a clear reduction in the green house emission is to maintain the environmental sustainability. There are many methods to attain the environmental sustainability. Consuming less amount of energy and making use of energy efficient appliances at home and offices can make a clear reduction in the green house emissions. In the similar manner, the utilization of recycling and reusing different things can also make the clear reduction in the green house emissions (Connectingthecoast.uwex.edu, n.pag.). On the other hand, the cutting down of forests is also producing endangering the environmental stability of the earth, as forests play an important role in maintaining the oxygen level in the atmosphere and maintaining the biodiversity of the planet. Besides that, forests also help is sustaining the water on the planet. In this paper I will examine the sustainable ideas employed by the ‘Green Print Solutions’ that is working as a paper printing company. The company ‘Green Print Solutions’ is a printing company that prints various kinds of banners and printed advertisements. The size of the prints may vary according to the order. Company is capable of proving all available sizes utilizing green and renewable resources thus impacting the environment as less as possible. The company is such designed to use the natural resources that can be grown or made available from the environmental sources. The word ‘design’ is to interpret the process from where the process starts to the end product. For any industry to be considered as the green industry, it must pass the criteria to green design. In green design, the industry mast have to utilize as less energy as possible, it must have the capability to utilize the natural resources and it must have no or less environmental impacts. The utilization of energy can be limited by utilizing the natural solar light for the lightening purposes, other methods may include the utilization of alternative resources like solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, etc for the generation of energy; however, the architecture also matters a lot. The utilization of natural resources, which can be locally available, can reduce the transportation costs and emissions. However, the environmental impacts can be minimized by making a clear reduction in the waste, reusing or recycling the wastes and utilizing the materials that are biodegradable. The whole process maintains the health of the environment and thus the health of the humans. The company has no or fewer environmental impacts and all the strategies the company is utilizing are environmentally friendly. The major aim of the company is to run the printing business by utilizing the green resources like the wood required for the printing of the paper come from the sustainably managed forests. Wastes from the industry are managed in such a way that the wastes no longer remain dangerous for the environment. Wastes are recycled for increasing the efficiency of the company not only in the economic sense but also considering the environmental aspects. The end products and nearly all types of the wastes omitted by the industry are biodegradable. The utilization of such the strategies not only reduces the green house emissions and environmental impacts but also give rise to the profits the company generates by selling the prints to various dealers and customers. The three important elements of the sustainable design are the environment, economy and society. Any company that has a sustainable design must maintain the three elements of the sustainable design. Any design that has the environmental sustainability but lacks the environmental sustainability would be not feasible (Exinfm.com, n.pag.). In the similar way, sustainable design has large impact on the society. It is much difficult to maintain a balance between the three elements of the sustainability; however, a sustainable design must have to balance all three elements and must maintain a bond between three elements. Economic Element Considering the economic aspect of the company, it is matter of fact the environmental resources are free of cost or cost little than the factory made products. Like, as the company is utilizing the environmental resources for the printing purposes, the reliability on the artificial sources is minimized. Natural sources like trees can re-grow; in fact few trees have much shorter life spans as compared to the other, the word comes from the forests that are managed to determine the age of the trees and the trees that are near to die are cut and utilized for the printing purposes. In this way, the cost of the wood reduces. The method that is employed by the company to enhance the profit margins is the utilization of the recycled materials that reduces the cost of producing the new. Paper can be recycled easily but the company manages to even recycle the ink. In a normal printing company, a heating method is utilized to dry the ink and then a cooling system is utilized to lower the temperature of the paper. However, ‘Green Print Solutions’ a unique method and ink is utilized that does not requires the heating to be dried and dries at room temperature thus minimizing the heating and the cooling cost and save a large amount of energy. In this way, the profits of the company increase many times as the general printing companies. Environmental and Societal Element It is a difficult matter to maintain a perfect balance between the economics, environment and society, as according to the set conditions; all the elements have the different paths, but it is wrong to consider the paths of the environment, economy and society different, as to achieve the sustainability all the three elements have to be on the same path. The printing company ‘Green Print Solutions’ has made it possible to achieve the sustainability considering all the three elements. The company ‘Green Print Solutions’ benefits the society in different ways. The employees of the company are paid more salaries and an excellent working environment. The company is doing social service by recycling the wastes and consuming the wastes to produce the products thus minimizing the wastes. Most of the workers in the company are locals and company is helping them to maintain a good status. In this way, the company is contributing much in maintaining the societal sustainability. By the society we must remember that earth is a sustainable system. Like the plants are capable to producing their foods by combining the nourishments and water from the soil and solar energy from the sun. The process is named as the ‘photosynthesis’. Animals and humans depend on plants and other animals for their survival. Different types of plants can be utilized to cure different illnesses. In this way, earth is a sustainable system. However, humans struggled had to damage the sustainability of the planet. There is a need to do a lot of work to maintain the concept of sustainable society. In my view, the environmental element of the sustainable design that the company Green Print Solutions’ is utilizing is the dominant elements of the company and if the environmental elements is omitted, there is no need of the company to exist. The environmental sustainability is the most required element at this stage. The concepts of the recycling, reusing the materials is an important factor of the sustainable design of the company. The company takes the full responsibility towards making the smart economical decisions that could benefit the company as well as employees. The company introduces the products in a wide range of prices, so that everyone could use green products of their requirements. In this way, the business of the company grows by utilizing the sustainable elements. Thus utilizing the sustainable methods can effectively enhance the business opportunities a new industrial era will begin with the utilization of sustainable and renewable resources.
