Among the Asians to the West Islam is the most dominant religion and thus bound by Islamic values. The family is the basic unit of organization. Religion takes prominence on our people’s values and traditions (Ezinearticles, 1). There’s a common language that serves to identify members of the community and serves as a form of social tie as well. There is a recommended dress code that is in most cases religiously determined. Members of the community share in festivals and mark these festivities through the religious calendar.
Religions found within Asia included Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Daoism as well as Confucianism. There were lots of communities in Asia and these had their own slightly different ways of life. For example, when it comes to architecture, certain parts such as Japan would build wooden structures. The Asian people enjoyed music and dance to a great extent. However, these at times differed from one part to another. The Asian culture was rich in literature as depicted by the dance and festivities. Another unique feature about my community is our stumble on philosophy that was later integrated into our way of life.

My dream career is in the Medical field and the school of dentistry at the University of Michigan just provides the best learning environment for me to pursue a successful career. I am currently working as a volunteer for a nursery home in my neighborhood.
Since last month I have enjoyed dedicating six hours a week to the nursery home. I have always been empathic towards people in my community. As a human being however I have my own weaknesses and strengths. I am confident to note that I am very hard working. I always ensure that I complete whatever task that has been assigned to me irrespective of the time frame. This is evident by the fact that I work best under positive pressure. My main weakness is that I am too quiet. Many people mistake me to be an introvert.
With time, I have learnt to turn this weakness around. I know I do not talk too much so I take my time to listen to other people’s problem. I have since developed in to being a good listener. During my time at the nursery home, I discovered how the issue of dental hygiene has been neglected by parents. Many children suffer from dental infections that would have been avoided if their parents observed dental hygiene. I discovered that this was due to the parents’ ignorance and neglect. This is what inspired me to pursue the dental hygiene program as my career.
I came to learn how the school
