The capability identification of an air-deployable amphibious vehicle (ADAV) involves consideration of the necessary functionalities within the defense forces. In this case, there is the facilitation of movement across a wide range of terrains in varying environments. The ADAV will demonstrate its capability through its operation in conjunction with the military helicopter and in potentially threatening environments. The identification and implementation of the ADAV capability alongside other capabilities will improve and sustain the operations of the military personnel as well as the conduction of its principle tasks.

Personnel Interfaces The role of the personal interface within the ADAV system calls for the support and intervention by the military personnel. The personnel alongside the ADAV crew facilities the ADAV operations by responding to various commands that are issued in the course of military functions. Further, various departments and sections within the Australian Defence Forces offer their support by working closely with the ADAV crew. These sections include the military helicopter, which is expected to undertake the deployment of the ADAV.

The other one is the training institute, which plays a critical role in the development of the ADAV capability alongside that of MRH90 and threat detection. The role played by the departments such as the naval crew also offers support to the operations of the amphibious vehicle in the sense that they facilitate the movement of the vehicle within the water bodies. The ADF could also contract additional personnel and expertise to carry out repair and maintenance of the ADAV system and its infrastructure.

Situation summary In this scenario, there is a need by the Australian military to carry out operations relating to response to the amphibious environment. The terrain in this environment is such that other vehicles have challenges in making their way through it. The challenges experienced range from impassable roads, lack of roads, and the threat of encountering explosives along the way.
