Most of the tall senile houses cause many damages and loss of several lives when a catastrophic event occurs, for example, fire because of insufficient requirements and the building designs used. Due to innovation and invention spearheaded by advancements in technology, many devices have mitigated such losses. In some cases, all the requisite facilities might be present, but the emergency becomes a more disastrous event due to human inability to use the devices. Modern high-rise houses have been designed so that salvaging the victims during the fire emergency becomes easy.

Adequate exits have been put in all rooms for easy and quick evacuation of the building occupants if the fire breaks.Significantly big aisles and corridors have been constructed to offer ample space to avert fracas and commotion of people when running for their safety. A real high-rise building should have a fire alarm that detects the rise in heat in a given room. Some structures have the heat detector that put the building occupants aware several minutes before the fire starts blazing. Heat detection before the actual fire is a basic requirement for every building.

It gives the occupants more time to evacuate the building and gives the fire-fighters ample time to prepare to counteract the emergency. More staircases in the high-rise structures is another requirement that should be acted upon in the modern constructions. Most people, especially children, either die or are injured in the process of climbing down the staircases. People dealing with building and construction or construction design should develop various building designs in which several staircase routes are included.

A high-rise building can have all the requirements needed in the fire evacuation process, but the occupants’ behaviours can make the situation worse. Due to frantic and confusion, people may start exiting the building using one exit, which is very hazardous. When the heat detectors have signalled the building guards about the fire outbreak, such security men should take it upon themselves, as their sanctimonious obligation, to spell out the occupant's evacuation procedure.
