This project report covers the project’s Statement of work (SoW). This Statement of work will present the detailed overview of the project that is going to implement by us for the restoration of Adams family’s farmhouse. Here this report will also include the project’s budgetary plan. Introduction Adams family has initiated a project for the restoration of their old farmhouse and its roof. This project involves the Michigan Historical Society who has agreed to assist in maintaining the property upon completion of the restoration project. The Adams family desires to restore the farmhouse to its original splendor with the goal of preserving 80% of the authentic structural design. Successful completion of this project will allow the Adams family to appreciate family tradition and actively take part in their heritage now and in future years (Case Study). This project planning and management report involves the project requirements and scope elaboration for the better project resource and time planning. Here I will also include the project time plan in the form of Gantt chart. This report will also discuss about the project financial plan. Phase I Project Statement of work (SoW) Scope of Work This project is initiated by the Adams family. This project involves the restoration of the structure of the old farm house. This old farmhouse owned by the Adams family for more than 100 years. Now with the help of Michigan Historical Society Adams family has taken the decision for the restoration of the old farmhouse. Here we have following scope of this project: Restoring the farmhouse to its original splendor Preserving 80% of the authentic structural design of the old work on the farmhouse Restoration of the roof Incorporating modern conveniences into the restoration process Completing the working and restoration of the roof with allocated budget Completing the working and restoration of the roof with allocated Time Minimizing the damage to original structure Location of Work This project is located at Gaines, Michigan. Period of Performance The duration of project is two months. In this roof restoration project we have lot of different activities those will take the different amount of time. Here we have to pay attention regarding the better establishment of the time frame for each task. In this way we will be able to complete the project in the allowed time period. Deliverables Schedule In this project we have to restore the old farmhouse roof into its old position with 80% preservation of the old authentic structural design. Here we have given the below schedule for deliverables for the project: Week 1: Reconnaissance House shall be evaluated including all necessary measurements taken to determine manpower and materials by contractor. Timeline will be scrutinized to ensure predetermined milestones are realistic. Permit and other regulatory compliance should be verified by contractor. Project manager will gather information to present preliminary project outline to customer. Week 2: Brainstorming Based on Week 1, necessary timeline changes will be made by contractor considering feedback from project manager and customer. Planning for materials and manpower as related to budget constraints is performed by contractor. Proposal is given to customer for approval. Week 3: Design Project Plan Feedback from customer brainstorming is analyzed for plausibility and two project designs are created by contractor. The budget is prepared by contractor and the proposal is reviewed by the customer. Project manager creates contingency plans for time, cost, quality, and performance trade-offs. Week 4: Fund Raising Contractor determines if the budget is feasible with customer’s desired outcome. Budget is presented by project manager to customer. Project manager receives customer approval and customer raises funds for project. Week 5: Duty Sharing Individual jobs are assigned by contractor with explanations of specific duties and requirements. Each participant is given a timeline with clear expectations for length of time in which work shall be performed, specifications required, and budget constraints. Agreements overseen by project manager are made between contractor and workers about requirements and timelines and consequences of work not meeting specified criteria. Contractor determines appropriate measures to evaluate work through checkpoints for each sub-contractor reporting to project manager. Weeks 6 and 7: Construction Work is performed by workers. Contractor evaluates work being performed following previously agreed upon guidelines and makes modifications as necessary based on predetermined criteria from Week 5. Progress reports are given to project manager who relays information to customer as necessary Week 8: Conclusion Work has been completed, and contractor makes a final evaluation before presenting finished project to customer. Some time is allowed for minor modifications and a final evaluation is received by the customer. Applicable Standards Here we will take the assistance form the Michigan Historical Society. This society is working for the preservation of historical places. This utilize of assistance and expertise form this society will provide help for the better restoration of the old structure.
