The effects of art teaching in the children is of more importance as it helps the children more developmental mentally. Schools in the United States are increasingly incorporating art education in the early grade schools. The art studies are more helpful in the students who are involved then those are not. This paper looks at the importance of the art education to the children in their early development as well as in their mental capabilities. The Importance of Art Education towards Children According to Szekely and Bucknam (2012), art teaching in children helps improve their motor skills. Art involves many actions, many of which are helpful in the brain systems of coordination. Some artistic activities like holding a brush help the children in the growth of the fine motor skills to the young kids. The developmental milestones of children are all involvement of particular artworks, for instance, drawing a circle is the first developmental milestones any child undergoes through (Szekely & Bucknam, (2012). Another artistic breakthrough of drawing a square, rectangle, as well as a straight line are all incorporated in the children studies to help them develop their motor system. As Hickman (2006) asserts, art education helps the children improve their language development. Young children love playing with artworks; they like mixing colours and this helps them improve the way they communicate and learn different colours and other artistic forms. Simple elements of children involvement in making individual shapes with their parents is crucial in making them improve their linguistic capabilities. Parents helping their toddlers unite papers to make sample balls is more helpful to the children. This practice adds up the kid’s ideas in creativity in making of newer arts (Hickman, 2006). The experience one gains in making the decision helps them in future forms of decision making in the later stages of life forms. Children and the young people have the urge to try doing new things. These actions help the children in being creating in whatever new thing they are doing and making the artistic works they do a perfection (Hickman, 2006). Art sparks new ideas in young people, enabling them to blossom in their talents. As Kohl and Oppenheim (2012) assert, art improves the visual learning in children. The art forms of drawing lines and other artist forms helps improve the visual forms of these children. This aid helps their skills more valuable and helpful in making extended skills. Children learn how to operate smartphones, tablets laptops and other advanced devices through their artistic nature to fast learn (Kohl & Oppenheim, 2012). The information provided in any artistic form the children come across provides to them the cues they all need to three dimension pictures and objects from the digital media, print media as well as the televisions. According to Kohl and Oppenheim (2012), art is simply innovation and hence it help the young children become more inventive in the art actions they take. Inventiveness involves acts of risk-taking, to try doing out new things. The art improves this measures in children which are more helpful to them not only in their young ages but also in older ages. The society we live in in the 21st century requires us all to be creative, come up with new ideas in the society so as to be able to cope with the needs of the world we live. Only the creative people in the art are becoming more successful in life. This art, therefore, is critical to be taught in juvenile stages as the application is broad, ranging from the young age through to the entire life (Kohl & Oppenheim, 2012). Art encourages processes as well as experiences of the form of thinking as well as making things better. Kohl and Oppenheim (2012) ascertain that art is more culture cultivated. Hence, it helps the children become more aware of the cultures they live. The cultures the children alienate from are more diverse. This diversity brings together the children to learn from each other’s culture, exposing one to many artistic ideas to learn. Art helps students develop both academically and mentally. Art classes help the students to be more creative, innovative and hence abled to create more attractive images. Art similarly helps the children gain an intellectual capability, where they are able to translate real life images into artistic works.
