According to the Summary of In Praise of the F Word Essay, a point of the argument made by Sherry is that the failure of students at the hands of the teachers should be of high praise as a motivation tool. Furthermore, the process of flopping creates an impression of confidence for instructors and parents that learners possess the ability to learn the materials presented to them. Sherry does not let go of the fact of her memory of the teacher that caught the attention of his son. Mrs. Stifer was an English teacher who pulled the card of failure to him while in school.

Through the support of Sherry and the teacher, the attention of making a priority in English changed suddenly, making him finish the rest of the semester with passing colors. Through the explanation, she showcases the anger and resentment possessed by students for having passed even through the school system. She makes a point to learn the impact of passing students who lack the mastery of the subject dupes the student and future employers who expect possession of basics skills about the grades.

Through this system, it develops a pattern of hatred for the high school system as some students wonder about the purpose of going through the education system. Through this dishonest behavior, students fail in learning whether they come from bad environments; Sherry also makes the argument most students do not have place education as a priority unless something is at stake. The system creates a bunch of classmates cruising along. The learners end up facing difficulties even after making education their main priority.

Driving from the motivation of scholars in their quest for success and desire for paying jobs, it creates a constant fear of failure. There is a belief that she puts through this development of fear of failure; this is either academic or economic. The move acts as a motivation for all learners. There is a conclusion where she paints flunking of learners as a positive teaching tool his enabling building a culture of confidence among the students who possess the ability to learn the material as presented to the learners.

Through this system, instructors end up following through with the action, which saves them from the long term effects of illiteracy. Therefore, it avoids the behavior of passing students with the notion of helping the learners building their confidence. This is only placing the students in a tight rope, especially when entering the job market without any basics skills. The process ensures that the students have an opportunity to experience success and failure in equal shares before joining the real world.
