Rudd, Kevin, Smith Stephen, 2007, ‘Education Revelation’, Australian Labor Party, pp.27 The statement ‘Education is the platform on which our future economic prosperity will rest’ means that through the knowledge we receive from education, we are able to use them in developing our countries. Bengtsson, Stefan, L, Ostman, Leif, O, 2011, ‘Globalization and education for sustainable Development: emancipation from context and meaning, Environmental Educational Research, 15. Doi: 10.1080/13504622.709822. According to Saul through the article, middle-class democracy is one of the important aspects in the modern days. Therefore, younger generation should come up with proper strategies that would allow them to do away with politics that does not support democracy within the organization. Consequently, younger generation should involve in politics that support development majorly in the democracy. Reid, Alan, McCallum, Faye, Dobbins, Rosie, 1998, ‘Teachers as Political Actors’, Asia-Pacific Journal of Teacher Education, 26, 3, pp247-259. In the document, authors said that in the modern days, education is control by politics. This is achieved through teachers who operate within the political surrounding. Therefore, according to the writers, it is important for the teachers to be politically literate in order for them to be able to provide the current form of education. This would be good for them for the teachers to provide education that are politically motivated, which in turn results to motivation of the younger generation into active politics. Sennett, Richard, 1998, The Personal Consequences of Work in the New Capitalism, New York City: Norton. According to the document, the author argue that in order for relevant education to be realized, there is need for flexibility in approaching certain aspects of education for easy understanding of the relevant information pertaining education. Therefore, they should be ready for challenges because the process is full of resistances from the learners. In addition, they should ensure they provide relevant education to this generation by covering all the aspects of life. Although it is an easy process but he argues teachers to find ways of dealing with the process in order to prepare these group for a better future. Hunttenen, Rauno, Souranta, Jusha, 2006, CRITICAL AND CULTURAL ORIENTATION IN RADICAL ADULT EDUCATION, Rotterdam: Sense Publishers. Various similarities exist between this document and another document produced by Sennett on the issue of adult education. For instance, they both support that when comparative reading in education is followed, it is good teachers to some of the relationship that exists with other areas in the same section. This would make it easy for the adult learners to have easy time in understanding most of the concept of learning without straining. PART B: Current Australian Curriculum: The Draft Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Civics and Citizenship: In order to reflect the modern way of life in education, there is need for the learning structure to be changed. This structure should focus on the curriculum, which will change the mode of learning offered to learners. According to draft released by a group of the Civil Society in Australia, the document proposed some of the changes in the system of education that will help to provide better education to the younger generation (Mallihai, 2012, pp33). The proposed document is good for the people of Australia because it bring relevant changes to various areas in the education sector. For instance, in the proposed document, there is need for additional subjects that touches on the ways of life. These teachings are important because they prepare the learners psychologically in certain areas like marriage. When such areas are tackled during certain age, it will result to full understanding of the situation, hence, prepares these students better future life. On the issue of early childhood, it requires that children are taken to school at the age of three years. This is also an important move by the group because it is advisable to these children to start interacting with others at tender age. Another advantage of early childhood learning especially at the specified age is the ability for the child to develop physically, socially and psychologically (Mallihai, 2012, pp33). For instance, at early childhood, children go through various learning practices. They are taught how to play some of the common games, which prepares them physically, how to eat and share food with their neighbors in order to carter for the aspect of social development. Moreover, they involves in various storytelling, where questions are asked at the end of the story for teachers and caretakers to test their memories. Through these processes, these young children have the chance of developing their brain psychologically. Therefore, the move on the early childhood is good and should be endorsed by the people of Australia. The draft also touches on the issue of adult education, which focuses mostly on the distance learning for the working class. This, although has always existed but they have brought some few changes that control such education. For instance, they are allowed to take online teachings and examination without physically be in classroom and later graduate with other regular students. The move is appropriate because most of the adult learners are employed and spend most of their time at work, therefore, they are able to control both the other activities and get enough time for study (Mallihai, 2012, pp34). Moreover, encouraging adult education is important because it result maintaining good relations and updates to all generations because the adult learners receive both the currents and older teaching based on certain aspects. Therefore, the public should accept the changes in the sector in order to encourage more learning in all the stages in life, resulting to more ideas in education sector, hence, better development. According to the draft, there is introduction of other form of education that promotes artistic work (Mallihai, 2012, pp34). These are the teachings that promote the creation of talents among the youth. The areas covered by the draft provide information on the cultural values that help in upholding some of the cultural practices that has important teaching to the people. This would create a better society that is governed through peace and loyalty.
