the business of business is business The Business of Business is Business is not true. Today, we live in a competitive world and any person doing business small or large have an idea of the kind of customer’s they are dealing with. We now live in a world where most customers are literate and can judge between right and wrong or good and bad. In this situation, if a businessperson is only doing business of making profits and ignoring the quality of the products then eventually they will be a looser.

All a business needs to focus on is customer satisfaction. Any business is a risky venture that involves expecting uncertainties. The fundamental role of a business is to provide goods and services that meet the consumer’s needs. This is to enable companies be competitive as well as make profits. In addition, the role of a business is to drive innovation, be a creator of wealth and the liberator for economic freedom. Stakeholders have different expectations towards responsibility and fairness.

These expectations are aimed towards obtaining the goals of the organization (Pride & Hughes, 2012).  My experience in business involves the selling of Auto spares. I once owned an auto spare shop and I have learned a number of things that be thought of while dealing with Auto Spares. Firstly, the knowledge of the spares is important, as it is important to have knowledge of the spares as well as knowing exactly where they fit in the car. This is because some of the customers, especially women are sometimes not aware of where to fix some spares and they might need help.

Secondly, competition should be looked into especially when it comes to pricing. The prices should be competitive, as this will attract customers. Thirdly, the shop should be near the target market and the position should be strategic as it is impossible to make sales in an area where the services are not needed. Apart from making sales and profits, it is the responsibility of any business to practice Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. CSR is simply giving back to the society.

Companies have power in the community and national economy and they devote time and resources to environmental sustainability programs and other social welfare activities to benefit the customers, workforce, and the community at large. Businesses have a responsibility of practicing ethical practice. It is about doing the right thing at the right time. It involves operating in a moral way. In addition, organizations should have environmental friendly practices like not polluting the environment and ensuring that whatever they do, the environment should be as clean as possible.

Moreover, the organization should be involved in relevant sponsorship activities that are helpful to the community. In addition, the organization should be involved in programs and activities that help in the development of the whole community. Organizations should provide opportunities for development in the society. Large companies like Nestle and Cadbury have invested in developing programs and activities that involve employees working on community projects.References Pride, W., & Hughes, R. 2012. Business (11th ed.).
