Accountancy Lecturer 1. Describe your beliefs with regards to the discipline. I believe accountancy provides a significant professional qualification that can result to a wide variety of opportunities in business. 2. What is the most challenging problem you experience when lecturing accounting? How do you handle it? Providing knowledge to students who do not believe discipline is paramount. I however handle such students by educating them on the importance of self-discipline or ensuring they face a disciplinary action. 3. What are some of the rules you have set for your students in the classroom? How do you ensure they are established? Every student must actively participate in class, team work is paramount, and assignments must be done and submitted on time. To establish these rules I ensure that I focus on every individual student so as to notice their point of laxity and rectify it. 4. How do you handle discipline problems that arise in your classroom? Like I mentioned earlier, I handle indiscipline students through ensuring they face proper disciplinary action. 5. In your point of view, what are some of the key aspects in classroom control? To be able to control a classroom, first you have to earn respect from the students majorly through also respecting them. Another aspect is ensuring disciple prevails and that you provide accurate and up-to-date information to students. 6. How do you ensure that the probability of students behaving appropriately is increased? Through advising them on the importance of self-discipline and respecting one another. 7. How do you identify and respond to individual differences? What reaction does your response receive? To identify individual differences, I usually help the students carry out weekly meetings on issues affecting the class. Most issues arise and we all make decisions on how to solve them and ensure the solutions are implemented. This response normally receives a positive reaction. Interview Questions for an Accountant 1. Why did you choose to be an accountant? Accountancy provides an appreciated professional qualification that can result to a wide variety of opportunities in business. 2. How and why did you select the university you studied accounting in? Generally, I considered the guidance and the advices I received from the lecturers. I also considered geographical preferences, availability of the accountancy course, individual staff members and the institution’s teaching quality, cost factors, and the institution’s reputation. 3. What qualities do you have that makes you a competent accountant? I have numeracy and interpersonal skills, self discipline and determination, and generally an interest in the world of business. I also have good communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work in teams, and curiosity, especially in auditing. 4. What are some of the areas you particularly show much determination? Majorly, when leading teams, coping with pressure, making difficult decisions, and dealing with unreasonable clients or colleagues. 5. What are some of the careers that you consider pursuing in future? I would like to focus on insurance and banking; skills required are similar to those of accountancy. 6. What is your greatest achievement and why? My boss had been accused for mismanaging funds; I had to do auditing to prove this. Despite all problems I faced since she was my boss, I somehow managed to do the auditing perfectly. I got an award. Read More
