Assessment project affiliation Assessment project Background The assessment project will focus on understanding the levels at which organizations have created equal and ethical workplaces. The project is based on that in the modern workplace; menial social classes are faced with numerous challenges based on poor strategies aimed at improving workplace ethics. The aim of the assessment project is to understand the strategies put in place to change the unethical workplace environment. Addition, the assessment tool will focus on understanding the influencing factors towards workplace discrimination. Moreover, the intent of management teams to minimize workplace discrimination would be determined. The environment characteristics include a massive population that may provide different responses on the issue. The environment may also be having differing perceptions on the issue. Additionally, the environment may have limited information and responses on the problem statement based on professional relationship. On the other hand the target audiences are both from the management team and employees. The target audience is affected by the workplace relationships. The response provided may be based on experiences of discrimination. Addition the target audience may require less direct questions to provide sufficient responses. The survey will collect information on the nature of the modern workplace and occasions where a target audience has been a victim of workplace discrimination. From the responses collected, the nature of the modern workplace in regards to discrimination will be determined. Method The questionnaire will be mostly used since it will be able to acquire more accurate responses. However, the questionnaire would be created with a strategy to minimize the challenges that might be created. The questionnaire will be closed ended where the response of the audience would be limited to an agreement of disagreement (Berg, 2009). The size of the target audience would be based on correspondents from five corporations in different industries. To create a statistical significance a minimal number of 100 correspondents would be required. From the total correspondents, an equal numerical division between employees and managed would be required. Addition, from the five corporations there would be equal division of 20 respondents from each industry. Distribution of questionnaire may be done physically or through electronic sources such as emails. However, the electronic sources are more reliable since they are provided and accessed at the ease of the respondents (Berg, 2009). Data collection may be done through means used for the distribution of questionnaires. Submission of responses through electronic sources makes it easier to acquire confidential responses from the audience (Berg, 2009). Questionnaire development Prior to the provision of questionnaire respondent would be approached as educated on the project. Upon their approval respondents would be educated and informed on the questionnaire filling techniques and appropriateness. Considering that there would be numerous questions on the research topic, respondent education would be done in one week. However, the education would not include coaching on responses to provide. The respondent is provided with the freedom to put down their own response. The questionnaires would be then developed and provided with questions on the week after their education. The questions provided would require direct and short answers as well explanatory answers. For this reason, respondent would be required to provide responses after one week after they have been submitted to them. In an argument by Silverman (2011) a respondent should be provided with enough time to be mentally and physically prepared to provide appropriate responses. To protect the confidentiality of the respondent, they would be required to use new email addresses. This would also assure them of information and source confidentiality. However, respondent would be provided with one extra week to finalize their responses and submit them. Demographic questions will inquire on the nature of social and professional affiliations of the respondents. They will be; Where do you work? For how long have you worked in your organization? How long have you worked in the industry? Can you attribute you success in your filed to your level of education? Would you improve your level of education to improve your position in your organization? Does your gender affect your job performance and ability to develop in your career? What is you perception on gender in you workplace? Do you feel obligated to cite your social affiliations as factors of success in your workplace? On the Likert Scale, I would develop questions these questions; Instructions: Mark in the box that depicts your response to the questions provided. Very low Low Neutral High Very high How friendly or how interactive is your relationship with your employer/employees? Very low Low Neutral High Very high How would you rate the efforts of employees and the management team to provide you with a non-discriminatory workplace? Very low low Neutral High Very high How would you rate your efforts in providing non-discriminatory workplace environment? Open-ended questions on the program would be; Have you ever witnesses a discriminative event in your organization? If yes, describe the event? What is your perception on workplace equality? How does your organization and industry develop policies to minimize discrimination cases? Do you think stakeholders are doing enough to ensure discrimination in the workplace in abolished? What changes should be done in policy making strategies that would eradicate workplace discrimination? Cost challenges and benefits The cost incurred in the assessment project was massive. It was costly to develop and print questionnaires that would satisfy the target audience demand. However, the decision to use electronic and internet sources minimize the cost to hire data collectors (Silverman, 2011).Most challenges faced were based on that respondents were reluctant to provide information that would dent their professional relationship with either their employer of employees (Howell, 2013). Another challenge was locating respondents that would provide reliable and sufficient information. The benefits of the assessment tool are that is enabled respondent to feel confident of the confidentiality mechanism put in place (Howell, 2013). Additionally, the data collected was enough to develop a reliable data interpretation framework. Summary From the assessment project, I realized that the more inquiring and extensive a questionnaire is the more reliable data is one likely to obtain. Additionally, a massive respondent may be reliable in providing sufficient data but may be expensive to develop a data collection technique. Moreover, I learnt that respondent confidentiality enables respondents to provide more reliable and detailed information. References Berg, L. (2009).
