Topic:  Observation assignment in an observation format Observation of a high school in different es Here the attempt is made to observea student in various classes, and detail it in an organized and chronological order. The different class in which the student was observed is Science, Art, Math and English respectively. Now further down, we can find the observation report in a detailed manner. The name of the student is Edward and his actions, response and reactions are reported elaborately. I)Observation in Science Class a)(Biology) Class 7: 30 am - Edward Greets the science teacher as she arrives in the class room. 7: 32 am –Edward tries to look for the text book of science in his school bag. 7: 35 am – Edward pulls out the text for science and note the page mentioned by the teacher. 7: 40 am- Edward reads the paragraphs lightly in order to encounter the teacher’s queries. 7: 42 am – Edward is chosen by teacher to read out the paragraphs in science text book 7:45 am – Edward reads out the paragraphs asked by the science teacher confidently. 7: 46 am –The teacher appreciated Edward and he is highly joyous by this reaction. 7: 55 am – Edward is found happy settled in his seat after confronting the teacher and class while reading out the paragraph mentioned by teacher. 8:00 am – Edwards tries to talk to his peer sitting beside him, and gets distracted from the class assuming that his role in the particular science class finishes. b)Chemistry Class 10: 00 am– Edward waits for the teacher to arrive in the class to teach chemistry lessons. 10:02a.m – The chemistry teacher arrives in the class and Edward greets him with fear and admiration. 10: 03 am– Edwards seems to be tensed and stressed, and look like he despises chemistry class. He is not seen as pleasant as he was in Biology class. 10: 05a.m – Edwards pulls out the chemistry text book and the assignment completed by him as mentioned by teacher in previous class. 10: 07 a.m – The chemistry teacher starts checking the assignments of students and as the turn of Edward approaches he seems to be draining and exhausted as if his assignment is defective. 10: 12 a.m –Edward is being called out by the teacher in order to present the assignment. 10: 14 a.m – The chemistry teacher inspects the assignment presented by Edward and warns latter about the inadequacy of the written home work. At this moment Edward looks distressed. 10: 18 a.m – Edwards walks back to his seat and looks at his assignment once more to see what his teacher has marked. It can be observed that his face looks gloomy and desperate. 10: 20 am- Edward tries to have a glimpse of his peer’s assignment and looks perplexed. 10: 28 a.m – Edward closes his book and examines what the teacher is commenting about other student’s assignment .His expressions gets high and low by hearing each students remarks. c)Physics Class 3;00 p.m - Edward waits for his Physics teacher and looks confused. 3 :02 p.m – Edward watches as the physics teacher enters the class room and greets her. 3; 04 p.m – Edward tries to find his physics book and understand that he has not brought the book to the class and left it at home. He looks afraid as he might get scolded by teacher. 3: 08 pm -The chemistry teacher asks the students to open chemistry textbook and Edward shares the textbook with his peer sitting beside him 3: 12 p.m - Teacher notices Edwards with no book and calls and threatens him. 3:15 pm – Edward asks the teacher to give him excuse this time for not bringing the text book. Edward looks ashamed and regretful as he put his head downwards and walks to his seat 3: 17 p.m - Edward stand up and requests the Physics teacher to give him permission to visit the wash room. The teacher gives him permission and he walks down to the washroom. 3: 20 p.m –Edwards come back and approaches the teacher and say sorry to her for his ignorance. 3:21 p.m – Edward looks cheerful as he walks up to his seat and smile at teacher and his peer. 3: 23 p.m – Edwards pay much concentration to the teacher’s lecture and make points in his notebook regarding important elements discussed by the teacher. 3: 25 p.m – Edward raises a question regarding the subject delivered by the teacher and receives appropriate answer for it. Now Edward looks satisfied and joyful. 3: 27 – Edward checks his school bag again for the text book. He pulls out a pen from his bag and starts to go through the points noted by him, while the teacher was lecturing. 3: 28 pm – Edward looks at his peer’s response to the teacher’s question. As his peer fails to respond to the teacher, Edwards is being chosen to answer the question. Fortunately, Edward gives out right response to the teacher which makes both teacher and Edward happy. 3 : 30 pm – The physics class finishes and Edward says thanks to the teacher. II) Observation in Social Studies Class a)U.S. History Class 11:00 am – Edward greets the teacher as he arrives into the class room. He smiles as if he is interested in the subject of U.S History. 11: 03 am – Edward checks in his school bag for history text books and find it .He talks with his peer about some issue and looks cheerful and positive. 11: 07 am – Now Edward is flipping through the pages of the text book to find the topic discussed by his teacher. He looks attentive and cautious in the class. 11: 10 am- Teacher calls out the name of Edward, and ask him to narrate the contribution of John. F. Kennedy to the American economy. Edward thinks for a second and answer for the question partially. Then he looks confused and dubious. 11: 12 am – Edward is given imposition by the teacher which leaves a negative vibe on his face this can be detected by any person with less effort. 11: 15 am – Edwards talk with his peers and is seemingly discussing about the imposition he received for his lack of knowledge. 11: 20 am – Edward then look at his textbook, and follow the instruction given by the teacher to imbibe the information. 11: 21 – He looks cool and calm as if he understands the subject matter discussed by the history teacher. In between the lecture, Edward looks tired and distractive and he flips through the entire book as if he is searching for some additional knowledge. 11: 23 He is looking in to the book, but is not indulging in the subject which the teacher is explaining .He then looks at his peer and laughs about some issue which shows his negligence. 11.30 Edward later passes on one book to his peer who is sitting behind him. He looks very distracting and less worried about the response of his history teacher and then class finishes. b) Economics Class 2 : 00 pm – Edward is not sitting in his seat as the time approaches for the economics teacher to arrive. He looks restless and mischievous. 2: 03 pm – Edward is greeting the teacher along with other students as he arrives in the class. 2: 05 pm – Edward seems to ask his peer something and he looks hurriedly into his textbook. 2:07 pm – He asks the teacher if he could drink water and come back and join the class. Getting the permission he walks out of the class room. 2: 10 pm- Edward comes back to the class after refreshing himself and looked calm and quiet. 2: 12 pm – Edward his being called by the economics teacher, and he holds a conversation with him. After the conversation Edward walks to his seat and get settled for the class. 2: 14 pm- Edward looks at his text book as the teacher deliver information about some subjects related to economics. Edward seemed to be very attentive and clearly concentrating on teacher’s lecture. 2: 17 pm- Edward along with other students writes down an answer to a question put forth by their economics teacher. He is writing very attentively and looks interested in this process. 2: 20 pm – Edward finishes his answer and give it to the teacher swiftly and obediently. 2: 21 pm –He settles down calmly in his seat and ask something to his peer. Edward looks as though he is curious about something. 2: 23 pm – Edward is being called by his teacher and is given instruction as to the writing procedure of the answer given out by him. Edward looks scared as thought he will get punishment from his teacher. 2: 25 pm – Edward is asked by teacher to draw a graph related to some statistical data. 2: 26 pm- Edward confidently approaches the blackboard and draw the graph, 2: 28 pm – The teacher appreciated him for the act and in two minutes class finishes. c) Geography Class 10.00 am – Edward greets the teacher as usual when she arrives and settle in his seat. 10: 03 am- Edward is anxiously looking at the teacher for her to start the explanation of the subject matter. 10: 05 am – Edward is being called by his peer who is sitting beside him to help him in finding the page on which lecture is being taken by the geography teacher. 10: 10 am –Edward is sharing some information with his peer and enjoying the conversation clearly. Here it can be observed that Edward has good interest in Geography subject. 10: 12 am- Edward is seen working out something on the text book with pencil. He is probably underlining some important points explained by his teacher. 10: 13 am– He is standing up and asking teacher about some queries he is having in the subject explained by the geography teacher. He has seriousness on his face and this is a good fact. 10: 15 am – Edward walks down to the teacher’s table with her permission, and points down to some information in the text book and wait for the teacher to explain it for him. 10 :18 am- Edwards looks satisfied and happy about the information he received from his teacher . Then he walks to his seat and smiles at his peer. 10 : 25 am – Edward looks little drowsy and sleepy as the class approached finishing time 10: 30 am – Edward looks happy as the class finishes and express thanks to his teacher. III) Observation in Math Class a)Algebra Class 3:00 pm – Edward looks at the door and mumbles something to his peer and he looks disappointing and distressed. It could be that he dislikes the subject of algebra. 3:03 pm – Edward greets the teacher as she arrives in the class. He then settles to his seat. 3: 04 pm – Edward search for something and later it was found that he was searching for his pen. He finds his pen on the floor and takes it and looks at the teacher. 3: 05 pm – Edward grabs his bag and takes the algebra textbook and a note book to jot down points. This shows that he is increasingly interested in improving his knowledge in algebra 3: 10 pm- Edward works out mathematical questions suggested by the teacher and looks serious and committed in doing them. 3: 15 p.m- Edward is seen helping his peer in working out the algebra equation and looks excited. 3:20pm – He hear the request of the algebra teacher to answer some equation and delivers it to the teacher for which he gets appreciation. Edward then settles in his seat and look for his bag to get another pen. 3:23 pm – Edward is keeping hand on his head and it looks as if though he is suffering from headache. Moreover, he tells the teacher he needs to take some medicine. 3: 25pm – Edward goes out of the class and returns back after 5 minutes and also he thanks the teacher 3: 30 – Edward greets the teacher as the class finishes. . b)Geometry Class 12 : 01pm : Edward looks gloomy and sad as the teacher approaches the class. Moreover, he fails to greet the teacher because of his distressed mood. 12: 02pm : Edward settles on his seat and looks at his peer and mumbles something. It looks as if though he has some concern and he is hesitating to attend the class. 12: 05 pm – He takes his text book and note book from the bag along with his instrument box. 12: 07 pm – Edward opens the text book as instructed by the teacher but his attention is not concentrated on the text book. He is seen flipping through the pages without any focusing. 12: 09 pm – Edward is being called by the teacher over his ill behavior. 12 : 10 pm – He explains to the teacher that he is having problem in concentrating in class, as he did not sleep previous night due to chaos at home. 12 :12 pm – Edward is being consoled by teacher and is asked to go out and refresh himself and comeback in few minutes. 12: 17 pm – Edward come back to the class and looks bit better than before. He walks near to the teacher and he is being questioned by the teacher regarding his situation. Edward responds by saying that he feels much better and also thanks his teacher. 12:20 pm – Edward approaches his seat and smiles at his peer. 12: 30pm – Edwards refers to the text book of his peer, and marks the important points discussed by teacher in an effort to help him and by then the class finishes. IV) Observation in English class 2.00 pm – Edward looks excited and joyful and is eagerly waiting for the teacher as he can be seen glaring at the door couple of times 2:03 pm - Edward stands up and greets the teacher as he arrives in the class. 2; 05 pm – Edward pull out his English text book from his bag and also the pen for jotting down important points as teacher begins to explain the subject matter . 2; 09pm- Edward stands up and asks permission from the teacher to raise a question related to the English poetry which is the subject matter of this class. 2: 10 pm – Edward receives answer to his question and he looks confused and again asks the teacher to explain it briefly. 2: 12 pm – Edward looks satisfied as he understands the answer clearly and thanks the teacher. 2: 15 pm – Edward is being called by teacher and is asked to stand in front of the class and recite the poem. As a result, he comes down and starts reciting the poem. 2 : 20 pm –Edward finish reciting the poem and he is being questioned by the teacher regarding the meaning of a particular stanza. He explains the meaning to the teacher and the she looks happy about it. 2: 25 pm – Edward is chatting with his peer and is happy thinking that his role in this class is finished. 2: 30 pm – Edward say thanks to teacher and class finishes.
