As an FGCS, going to college is one of the proudest moments in my life because I know that I have the opportunity to improve the lives of my family members who never had the chance to attend college. Going to and graduating from college also means that I get to realize my dream of starting my own healthcare-related organization.
According to Engle (2007), FGCS face a lot of challenges in relation to staying enrolled in, and graduating from college, among them being the inability to reach the required GPA for graduation. As a result of having good grades, with a GPA of 3.5, I have joined the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) so as to increase my chances of getting a scholarship to further advance my studies. Right now, I am an undergraduate student majoring in Science in Health Administration with more concentration on Health Information Systems. With good grades, I am hopeful the NSCS will sponsor me to pursue a master’s degree in Business Administration with a special focus on Health Care Management.
Currently, I am working as a Medical Administrative Assistant so that I can gain experience in the field of healthcare management but also so that I can get additional money to support myself. After I am done with my studies, however, I would like to manage the information technology department of a facility that deals with healthcare delivery. By working in such a facility, I will be exposed to all manner of patients and get to learn their problems and discover what kind of help they need.
Having the access to patient records while working in the information technology department will give me information regarding the plight of special groups of people in the society. Since my long-term goal is to set up a non-profit organization that caters to the needs of special groups of people in the society, the information gained during my managerial job will be of utmost importance.

Joining an international college away from my home country was a crucial step in my life. It marked the beginning of another historic event. This is a personal experience of that great and first day in college. Qualifying to an international College meant that I had to learn the art of diversity since I would interact with people from different races, ethnicity, religion, countries, and even culture.
Indeed, the reasons behind students dropping by after college has not been due to limited space at the universities to contain these students but the commonest factor has been due to failure (Goldblatt, 2009). Once students are admitted at the college, they are given a course outline that defines the area of study they are expected to complete.
This theory outlines the major influences that affect a person’s ability to effectively cope during the transition time. Therefore, it is applicable for students who are adapting to their first year in college. This is attributed to the fact that they train them to be consistent individuals throughout their college life from the first year to the final one.
More so, this memo aims at giving detailed information outlining all the necessary features that distinguishes the three cell phones in terms of design and build, screen size and clarity, camera prowess and battery life (Bennett and Dolcourt). There is stiff competition between these three smart phones hence leaving the shoppers confused which one to choose.
Just as the sudden chance in the environment of any species triggers an inborn mechanism in it to change and adapt itself to its new surroundings, we as students too undergo a similar transition now that we are out from the comfort zones of our homes and need to make decisions and take responsibilities of all the decisions we make as these would have a long term effect on our professional and personal lives .
The learning that the person has had up to college also greatly impacts how successful a person will be upon entering college.
One of the first things to consider when looking at weather or not a person will be successful in college is how successful they were in high school.
College education is an invaluable aspect of development in the society. Early Days in college are most demanding times for every student. It can be fun but coupled with the several challenges because of changes and differences emanating from high school to college transition. My first days in college were not exceptional; they were equally challenging.
