The two digits will be obtained from a word question. As you read the questions to them, let them pick the crucial information and numbers that need to be solved. After getting the digits let them identify the ‘ones’ and ‘tens’.

Start solving the ones then the tens and let the students be very keen on the place values. After helping solve the two problems, give them another three examples each to be done on the board by three students.
