The questionnaire survey and the interview survey. The questionnaire survey uses as the names suggests formulates sets of questions and targets them to a set of individuals. Their answer to the questions formulated reveals the answers and the outcomes of the survey. The interview survey is another type of survey in which the researcher carrying out the survey interviews different individuals and records their answers. The recorded answers then become the outcomes of the survey. Sometimes these answers provided by the participants and the respondents are initially incoherent in meaning but when properly assimilated they form the proper outcomes of the survey.

A slightly less known type of questionnaire is the household drop- off survey. This particular method of questionnaire is administered at the house of the respondents and the researcher comes and collects the answers to the survey from the house of the respondent. There are many advantages and disadvantages of the two different types of survey. The questionnaire survey could be group mode, mail mode and drop off mode. Further, the interview survey could be of personal mode and phone mode. In questionnaire mode the visual presentations are possible in all modes.

Whereas in phone based interview visual presentations are not possible. Long responses categories are possible in questionnaire modes whereas it is not possible in interview mode. Likert Scaling is one dimensional scaling method. Like most of the scaling methods, this method too tries to initially define what exactly is the area that the researcher is trying to scale. The concept to be measured is assumed a one-dimensional value. Next, the potential scaling items are defined. The scales are designed on a 1 to 5 basis or a 1 to 7 basis agree to disagree basis.

Sometimes intricate surveys are designed based on the in-depth knowledge of the item that is to be surveyed. The scale of 1 to 5 have to be set up in which
