My Passion for Dancing Admission/Application Essay. https://studentshare.org/education/1558357-dance.
I am currently the captain and choreographer for the (spell it out first) (NWC) dance team. I served as a peer mentor for the United Youth for Survival which is an after school program for abused and traumatized children. I taught them how to breakdance and they enjoyed it very much. Serving the community gives me the opportunity to give back what was given to me by others. I was selected as one of the lead dancers in the Hartford Stage Company production and I was hired by The Dance Center in West Hartford to teach hip-hop classes to students under the age of 14.
I am the youngest teacher in the school and I am currently teaching 3 classes. I have also been hired by the Watkinson School in West Hartford as a dance instructor for the dance club and there are over twenty-five students. I have not decided on a major for college but I am certain that dance will be part of my college experiences. If there is not a hip-hop/breakdance club I will start one immediately. Dancing has helped me to relieve stress, be creative, meet friends, make people happy, and remain in great physical health.
As you will have noticed, I have had many experiences and responsibilities in the dance field. I have had to be disciplined, responsible, meet deadlines and perform. All of these leadership skills will be brought into my chosen field and I will remain as a volunteer to help others. I hope _________ University gives me the opportunity to become part of the student body and demonstrate that I am capable to perform in the academic world and help me in meeting my goals and objectives.
