In a concern’s website, they will provide information about the company in “Home Page”. “Product page” will contain entire details about their existing products, upcoming products and features of the products. “Customer Support” page can contain the support details they are providing, contact information for servicing etc. “Contact Us” page can contain the entire contact details of the concern, (i.e) contact information from higher level for each department. (Hobson et. al 2007) Once this features are available in intranet, the customer has no need to worry about to know the products and service. They can compare the features of the products with other and can able to select the product which is suitable for them. If they need any product, they can check the availability and purchase that in a single click. Even though that particular product is not available, they can make an order for that via website. If they need any service, they can contact the responsible people to get quick service too. Once they order a product or waiting for service, they came to know the status of the process by the continuous update of the site. (Hobson et. al 2007) Website is always acts as a primary advertising source for a concern. Because via internet, people can access information they required about the company, within a fraction of time, wherever they would be in the world. If they find any complaints on their products they can file them into company’s website and take them into the responsible higher officials directly. Customers can confirm that they are buying guaranteed spare parts by go through the details available in the company’s website. If the concern provides information about their clients and manufacturer of the spares they are using, that will improve the sales. (Hobson et. al 2007) To hire an employee for their organization, human resource people can put their requirements in the “Careers” page. They can provide the required skill sets for the opening in that page. Based on that, job seekers can apply for the job in the organization if they meet the required criteria. Instead of pay to the consultancy people to hire an employee, they can recruit their selves. Human resource people can publish the employee information such as pay slip, etc which are required for an employee. They can maintain the number of visitors for that site and which pages are mostly viewed by customers. (Hobson et. al 2007) Customers can leave comments about the site, products and service of the concern. If the customer leaves any complaints on products, the company can find out the way to resolve the issue and improve the quality of that product. This will increase the productivity of the company. By giving secured pay system, company can improve their sales and productivity. If any particular spare part meets lot of complaints, the company can replace that spare with some other company’s manufacture. By considering the customer comments, company can implement new techniques in their products. They can count the number of customers viewed a particular product will improve the manufacture of the product. (Hobson et. al 2007) Finally intranet provides the following features, Document sharing, online discussions and sharing ideas. Tools to improve Productivity Apart from intranet, the company can market their products in dirt bike related magazines and put banners in public meet. While advertise in the magazines, they would provide the features of the product as well as required information to contact them too. If the company has group of people to respond to the queries from the customer based on the advertisement will improve the productivity as well as sales. They can able to communicate the public by phone or by person and came to know the customer comments. By considering the valuable comments, they can improve their productivity and sales. (Hobson et. al 2007) Arrange public meet in collaboration with some other companies. In that meet they can put the banners containing pictures, features and information about the product. In that meet also, they can collect suggestions from public to improve the product, opinions about the product and brands. (Hobson et. al 2007) Benefits of Wireless Network Wireless connectivity provides benefits to employees as well as organization. If a sales person has wireless connectivity, he can take his laptop and meet the customer and explain the features of the product. If the customer is ready to make a purchase order, the sales person can make the purchase order immediately by connecting his LAN using wireless connectivity. Within the network range, employee can connect his system with his organization network and collect the required details if necessary. This will improve the efficiency of the employee as well as the sales of the organization. (Hobson et. al 2007) Time saving is one of the main benefits of wireless network. Employee can access details from outside of the campus; so that they can redistribute their work time for their official as well as personal work. Not only that, they have freedom to work from anywhere else. Even though, the organization has to provide secure connection, this will improve the productivity of the employee. Usages of cables are reduced. Wireless network provide improved communications among the employees such as sharing of information, making conference with higher officials etc. Obviously this will reduce the travel expenses of the organization. (Hobson et. al 2007) By providing Wireless network to employees, the organization reduce the travelling time as well as expense of the employee. An employee can utilize this time to concentrate on some other work. By using this, reduces the physical strain of the employee too. Conclusion Intranet is always in the first place to advertise the products of the organization and improve sales of the products. By advertising in the magazines, we can improve the productivity of the employee as well as sales. Wireless networks save the time of the employee and provide better performance in document sharing.
