Download file to see previous pages... The study has been undertaken adopting the realist approach of research thus using both the phenomenology and interpretivism. Detailed questionnaires have been administered to a relatively large size of population in China as well as the UK comprising of mobile phone users. In addition mobile phone sellers in both the countries have been interviewed to provide their point of view. The detailed analysis of the above process has indicated that there is ample scope for on line mobile phone retailing in China which needs to be exploited by using the effective model for e commerce penetration which has been provided by the example of UK.
According to the research findings the business environment in China particularly in retail is seen to be extremely competitive with customers and retailers continuously haggling over price as well as quality of goods. This is leading to constant conflict between the customers and retailers particularly in an ecommerce online selling environment which is gradually emerging. It is evident that this process is likely to take a very long time, till the Chinese customers get used to buying their goods online and the sellers do so in a more efficient manner with greater trust between the two parties.
