English al Affiliation At the well-lit balcony was a lady in her mid-twenties, the power of love had struck her and she had fallen in love with an ex-soldier. A guy whom she could hardly stop thinking about. She strongly believed that their happily-ever after would be great. Cate, a graduate with bachelors from the State University was a humble lady who had principles of her own. Nobody, not even her classmates believed she would ever be in a relationship any time soon after college. Her dad had been so categorical and to him relationships that could work were those founded upon the blessings of the parents. Danvers and Cate met at McGreenly café on one cold evening and what connected the duo only God can tell. Cate then very quiet and cautious lady did not even have time to look into Danvers’s eyes. But love breaks all, Danvers had somehow managed to get to her and they had the pleasure to introduce themselves. It was the start of something, something that could build into a dynasty of its kind. She could hardly go a day without calling to ensure her love was well and no night would be peaceful without him getting an assurance she was well. Years passed and time counted yet the love did not grow old even in thick and span. Danvers played the role of being the boyfriend so well that Cate made her mind so long. Though spilling the wheat at that time would not have been a good idea. The musculature gave Danvers admiration all over the town. No lady would dare not to look twice. Cate got a job at the local food store as the supplies manager a job that opened a meeting avenue for the two love birds. The romantic moments were never ending the most remarkable being that time when Cate sneaked off work so she could meet her love for a walk in the moon lit fields. The meetings became more and more frequent until the love grew irresistible. One time when they were in Danvers’s grandfather’s boat is when the idea of letting their parents know struck their minds. A dinner was convened at Cate’s abode and everyone was happy that evening. Danvers having served at the Army knew what respect really meant. He arrived on time and with him he brought Dr. Brocket his favorite wine. The introduction was one of a kind and after that everyone could not resist smiling at their soon to be family member. After dinner Dr. Brocket had a one on one talk with Danvers and as usual the main aim was to set rules that could bind them together if observed carefully. A new pace had been set in the relationship and as would they were no longer strangers. Having grown as an orphan, Danvers took heed of Cate’s dad advice with a lot of caution; this made Cate love him even more. Danvers had the love of nature and he usually did a lot of site seeing. He had a camera that he had been bequeathed with his grandpa soon as he joined the army. He had a whole lot of photos that he had taken in his peace keeping mission in Africa, including that of birds and the wild animals. The one he liked was that of an alligator tearing flesh at the park they had once visited. Birds of the same feather flock together since Cate too loved photographs. She had a collection most of which were the city buildings and the ocean waters. However, Cate yearned to one day photograph birds and the fact that she met Danvers just made her believe that one fine day she would take a photograph of the birds. Her love for birds was heightened by the documentaries she watched for leisure-she wished to be an avid-watcher one day. The phone rang for almost twenty seconds and no one was onsite to pick it. Suddenly a young lady received the phone. “Hello, this is Cathy from Fairmont Hotels, how can I help you?” Hello this is Danvers, am calling to inquire whether I can book reservations for two.” He booked the rooms and was directed appropriately. Two air tickets were given to Danvers as he fished out money from his wallet to pay. After paying and ensuring that all was well, he made a call to Cate. The phone rang. “Surprise, we are scheduled to go for a three days trip on your one week of period,” Danvers said. Cate couldn’t hold her breath. “Wow! Baby that sounds so sweet can’t wait to be with you, just the two of us?” she replies. “Yes honey”. Cate started packing and was so happy that she told everyone at home including her dad who gave a nod to them. They safely arrived and were picked at the airport by a cab. It was this time that Cate learnt that they were headed to Fairmont Hotels in Florida. She rested in his wide arms and sleep caught her unawares. The nice aroma of food is what made her exit slumber land. They then entered the gate and after a while the reception. Everything was well planned and that evening the duo who were too tired had cold baths in their room and slept. The D day slowly crawled into existence. The alarm woke them up. Cate was still asleep and so Danvers had to wake her up. They had a bath then went downstairs for breakfast. Cate fell in love more and more. The driver came in time, they boarded the cab and this moment Cate had no notion of their destination so as usual she slept off on Danvers chest at the flow of the cool jazz music playing on the CD changer. As they travelled, Cate woke up and to her surprise all she ever dreamt of was right before her face. She had only read of it on the internet and on articles in the travel diaries but had never set foot on it. Everglades National Park, one of the most popular U.S National parks in Florida was where they were headed. She took off her camera and started shooting the panoramic view of the park; she wanted to create as many memories as she could, within the pictures. The reception at the park was glamorous and no one could resist the inner happiness it brought along. They signed some documents and after a few minutes of introduction to the wardens they took off and started the journey through the park. They had their cameras set and as they went they listened, took notes and even photographs of the various species in the Park. Cate had the chance first time in her life to see the Florida Panther one on one. They explored the park and appreciated the ecosystem. Finally after a long day in the park and interactions with various species, Danvers hinted the wardens to let them cruise the waters so that they could see the reptiles. They successfully took a boat and went across the waters appreciating the fishes and the reptiles. However, the most talked about crocodile was not on site. The only place to see them was the rocky part of the river. They then walked past the swamps and managed to reach the rocks. Danvers had wanted this chance so he could make a proposal to Cate and so this was the ripe time for that. They took photos of the alligators, fed them with chunks of meat. They were taking photos of the great blue Heron bird when Danvers knelt down on one knee; he sought the attention of Cate who then was glued on the bird. Cate turned to see what her love was saying. No sooner had she turned than an alligator came from nowhere and pushed Danvers into the water the ring fell on the rock and a pool of blood splashed on her clothes. Man plans but god approves. Cate cried on top of her voice but that could not cure the situation. Not even the wardens could help they tried their best but the man was gone. The alligators devoured their prey until they were put off by the resonance alarm from the boat. All that was left was Danvers Jaws and skeleton body trunk.
