My team presented a presentation on British Airways where my part was to present the introduction and conclusion before the audience and the entire team was successful in delivering quality performance before the audience. The presentation fetched us 11 marks out of 15 and it was due to the efforts of all the team members that we were able to deliver on the standards and ensure a sound result. The group was able to deliver quality performance because the group worked on the different aspect of the presentation from the beginning. Since, my team consisted of 3 members so we distributed the work in the first meeting itself. This helped us to concentrate on our work in hand. To ensure that the work was as plans out team met quite often and as desired by the members. During the meetings we ensured that each member was allowed to speak and present his views on the work of the other members. Suggestions and areas to work on were also provided and the members ensured that in the next meeting all the corrections were done. This helped us to ensure that the content of the project was as per the guidelines provided to us. My team also ensured that each of the three members acted as leaders and were capable of handling any discrepancies that arose between the team members. There were situations when there were differences between the team members but those were solved through brain storming session so that the best alternative or solution to the problem could be arrived at. The team faced certain difficulty in gathering all the relevant data and identifying the most important among them. The efforts of all the members within the team ensured that the team was able to deliver a quality presentation before the instructor and the audience. This was seen from the marks the team received as a whole. My team has rehearsed the presentation many times before which finally reaped benefits in the final presentation. This ensured that the team was able to deliver the performance within the allocated time. The team also ensured to have communication between the audience and the presenter by having proper eye contacts and body language. This helped the team to mix well with the audience and arose their interest in the presentation. The team ensured that there were different visuals presented in the presentation so that the audience got tuned to the presentation and listened it with attentively. Since, the team member had ensured that the different aspect were worked upon this helped us to ensure that the introduction was sound. Including some more information about the company and its competitors could have enhanced the performance and have ensured better that the audience understood the situation better. An area that was highlighted by the instructor was the ability of the team to use different theories and model like Porter 5 Force Model and SPACE ensured that the different learning’s were incorporated into actual practice. This helped us in the presentation as we were able to demonstrate the actual learning in the real world environment. An area where my team needs to work on is the ability to improve the slides so that the effect on the audience is better. We were even told by the instructor that improving the size of the financial figures will help to improve understanding and will help the audience to be able to perceive the presentation better. Thus, the ability and understanding of the presentation that was diversified and included various areas helps the team to present well. The fact that the team has worked on the different aspect of the presentation and rehearsed the presentation so that the team was able to deliver according to the requirements ensured better results. My team has also ensured that we listened to all the team members acting as an audience so that we could bring forward the views of an audience and highlight the areas that need to be worked on. This helped us immensely as we were able to work on the delivery of the presentation better. This also ensured that we as a team were effective in managing time and passed on the presentation to the other member at the correct time. The fact that all the three members were able to do justice to their part and deliver the same performance helped to keep the mood of the team and audience high. This helped us as it motivated the team to deliver the presentation in a better way. I was also able to deliver quality presentation as my part was both in the beginning and at the end and had the conclusion to deal with. I was entrusted with the major responsibility as introducing the presentation and delivering the final part which includes the conslusion is the most important aspect. I was very successful in giving the correct start and matched it with a good conclusion. I was able to introduce the presentation very well and dwelled on the different aspect that we were going to concentrate on during the presentation. This helped the listener to understand the core of our presentation better and was able to have an image of what was going to be presented. It was important that the conclusion was done properly as it refreshes in the mind of the audience all that had been heard in the past few minutes. Since, conclusion deals with providing a summary of all that was told so I had a vital role to ensure that the performance didn’t dip at that point of time. I was able to do justice to both the parts entrusted on me and the entire team was happy with my efforts. I am happy and pleased that I was able to deliver my satisfactorily and working on some aspect of the presentation will help me further. The fact that I had rehearsed the conclusion many times and being involved in the entire project provided me the useful knowledge and insight about the project which I was able to use in the presentation. I still feel that there is scope of improvement and working and shaping my presentation skills further will help me to deliver even better results. I need to ensure that the next time we use font sizes which are visible to all and also have better content so that the understanding of audience enhances. This presentation was a great learning curve as it helped me to use the different learning in a real life scenario. This will benefit me greatly as I will be able to use it further in the future projects. The learning from this course so far has been great and has brought about widespread changes in the way I look and do things.
