Riemann: You are so much welcome. As I told you earlier, my names are Anthony Riemann, the director of Corporate Strategy and Planning of GM Holden Limited here in Australia.

Me: This is a great company. It is all over in the local dailies. Can you tell me something about your company? Most preferably, I would like to know about its history.

Riemann: Well. As you can see, this is a motor vehicle manufacturing firm. The company was founded in1856 as a manufacturer of Saddlery by James Alexander Holden. Its business of manufacturing motor vehicles began in 1908. First; it began manufacturing motorcycle side-car bodies in 1913. After the end of the Second World War in 1917, Edward began fitting bodies to various carriages here. Later, the company began manufacturing body shells. It was first stationed in King William Street in Adelaide. From 1917 to the Great Depression of 1930, Holden engaged in building bodies for a variety of motor vehicles. However, the great depression altered its production significantly. While struggling financially, the company was purchased by the USA General Moors in 1931. The vehicle manufacturing business began in the 1940s after an agreement with the government (Coughs). In the 1950s, our company dominated the market in Australia. After the Second World War, GM Holden Limited emphasized quantity in production. New models such as FJ, FE, FC, and FB and New Falcon Australia were manufactured between the 1950s and 1960s. The (pauses). All our Australian vehicles are manufactured at Elizabeth South Australia. However, we produce engines in Melbourne in Victoria. Currently, the company manufactures barge-engineered motor vehicles such as Suzuki, Isuzu, Nissan, Toyota, Opel and Vauxhall models in sharing arrangements. I think you know them (laughter).
