Identification of functional requirements

The first stage of document design and development involves identifies the area that a particular document is supposed to address. For the proper functioning of the document, it should be tailor-made according to the area it is supposed to address. The right data/input should be put into the document and if the document is used for a particular purpose, a review should be done on how to improve it. For example, a restaurant menu is addressed to the customers and it should cover all meals, drinks and services offered by the restaurant.

This is evaluating the use of the document in the organization. The process of creation, use and review is evaluated. A complete review is done from when the document creation starts, the data input, and review of its functionality. The following should be included during the review organizational responsibilities, who is responsible for document creation, available hardware, available software, data input and output, improvements that can be made and system deficiencies.

These are the documents that the organization needs to create in order to achieve its goals. The available documents and their deficiencies should be reviewed in this process. Eventual documents should be able to improve the outcome of the organization.

The specific impacts on the overall system should be thought through and outlined.
