Atmosphere: the mood surrounding communication affects the type and amount of information one may disseminate. A lively mood inspires the communicator and the listener to engage in interesting communication, while a dull mood may affect the communicator and listener negatively.

Physical: This includes noise, lighting, and the amount of personal space, colors, and humidity among others that influence communication. For example, a large amount of personal space may influence the amount of voice that you use to communicate.
