The paper “Four Seasons Hotels - International Business Strategy” is an informative variant of a business plan on business. Globalization is characterized by the increased movement of capital, people, and information across national boundaries. However, globalization as people understands it is a huge concept that calls for careful definition. Given that tourism has become a leading export industry that entails enormous cross-boundary movement of people and capital, the hospitality industry is at the centre of international business globalization. While entering global markets comes with enormous benefits for firms and nations, hospitality firms such as Four Seasons Resort must consider the effects of the global context where they function and be prepared to handle issues arising from the change of environment and international business strategy issues.

Four Seasons Hotels runs and manages a number of hotels and resorts clubs internationally. The company operates through its Four Golden Rule strategic decisions which include culture, quality, service and brand name and it considers cultural aspects, geographic and economic status of its host nations. As such, the company employs a transnational business strategy.

This report highlights the international strategies adapted by Four Seasons; issues facing the company’s international business strategies. The report also presents strategic options and proposals to the Four Seasons Hotel CEO, Allen Smith. The firm should integrate adaptation and standardization strategies besides implementing mass customization to remain competitive in the hospitality industry.

1. Introduction
The internalization of business is characterized by communication over immense distances in foreign languages, regular travel to foreign nations, handling diverse currencies besides dealing with different social and political systems, cultures and customs, and regulatory environments.
