I have to admit that while coming up with the project I had mixed experiences; both of which allowed me to learn along the way. The project, being intensive, required that I come up with a necessary amount of resources that I could use as reference materials.

This was one of the most challenging tasks I come across because not much enough information and data can be found on the relevant academic sites in regards to the merger process of HSBC Oman Bank with its London-based counterpart. In fact, the challenge became even more intense when I tried to find out the challenges that this merger experienced hence limiting my scope of the entire project to distinctive items. The process of interviewing the officials of the newly formed company was a major challenge as most of them indicated that they had busy schedules, especially because the company was under pressure to meet its objective. Some of the officials who accepted to allow me an interview session with them were not willing to come out openly on the nature of problems they were experiencing while working with a newly merged company. I could almost understand this because I comprehend that they are under tight pressure to show the public that the merger was not a failure altogether.

I also was not able to quickly come up with a definite structure of the report. I have no prior experience in executing such a project hence; the arrangement of information meant that I take considerable amounts of time to evaluate before confirming its application within the project. I can also admit that I am not that fluent in English-language hence, the project was marred with a lot of grammatical errors that consumed enough time trying to revise and make certain points relevant.

In regards to referencing, I can say that an issue arose when citing certain information that could only be accessed from analysts’ websites.
