This report is based on my internship at the International Petroleum Investment Company Internship (IPIC) as a front desk receptionist. IPIC is a multinational company based in Abu Dhabi in the UAE. My area of study being on front desk receptionist, I had to look for an organization that would help me advance in my skills and get firsthand experience. I began my internship at IPIC with a lot of enthusiasm as I expected to gain a lot. I had always admired working at IPIC due to their excellence performance and a good reputation. This report analyses my attachment at IPIC in Abu Dhabi for a period of two months. The report gives information about the company, my internship information and also gives recommendations based on the report observations.

2. Abu Dhabi vision 2030
IPIC is based in Abu Dhabi which is a vibrant UAE economy. Abu Dhabi vision 2030 was drafted by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development, and the Department of Planning and Economy. This was after the three organs were mandated by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in 2006 to come up with a long vision for the Emirates (IPIC, 2015). Vision 2030 acts as a roadmap for the emirates economic progress. The vision sets out the priorities for social-economic development for the Emirates. The government developed the policies with a close collaboration with the private sector and have come up with a strategy to achieve them. There is Abu Dhabi policy agenda that is aimed at achieving the primary goals. The primary goals are a secure and dynamic society with an open economy.

Abu Dhabi vision 2030 is set on nine pillars that form the architecture behind the Emirates’ social political and economic future (IPIC, 2015). The pillars are; large empowered private sector, creating a sustainable knowledge-based economy, enhancing transparency in the regulatory environment, strong and diversified international relations, optimisation of the emirates resources, significant and ongoing contribution to the federation of UAE, premium services in health care and infrastructure, complete security both domestic and internationally and maintaining Abu Dhabi culture, values, and heritage.
