The problems associated with the line managers show a failure on the part of the human resource management. The human resource should develop measures to motivate and inspire workers to perform better. About 970 hourly workers had joined a union (Skinner and Beckham 2). The union aimed at negotiating for better wages, health and safety standards, benefits, and improved working conditions. Addressing employee turnover can help enable the business to reduce costs and enhance productivity. Question 2             According to employee exit interviews and satisfaction surveys, the foremen were dissatisfied and pointed out concerns with their job positions (Skinner and Beckham 4).

Conflicts and disagreements were common between the hourly workers and supervisors. The foremen expressed their issues due to the lack of clear authority and unhealthy relationships with the hourly employees. The top management appraises the supervisors depending on their ability to achieve the expectations (Skinner and Beckham 4). The poor relationship and communication in the workplace have a negative impact on productivity. The serious moral concerns make it difficult for the foremen to accomplish the expected results.

In addition, the lack of proper communication of the expectations of the company demotivates the supervisors. Question 3             The feelings of dissatisfaction affected employee motivation. The workers felt that the management is neglecting their interests. Job dissatisfaction leads to reduced performance, stress, absenteeism, and high turnover rates. Thus, the company loses man working hours leading to low productivity. Moreover, the operational costs would increase due to frequent hiring and training of new workers.

Question 4             The line foremen complain that they are unequipped. They were placed in their positions without receiving appropriate training and coaching (Skinner and Beckham 5). The lack of training causes them to have inadequate skills and consequences. The foremen were frustrated due to few opportunities for promotion to higher positions. The supervisors felt disconnected in the workplace. The lack of effective communication with the hourly workers led to morale issues and conflicting situations.

The senior also failed to communicate clearly the expectations of the company leading to dissatisfaction. Question 5             The training programs should be designed appropriately to provide foremen with adequate skills and competencies to perform their duties effectively. The company will invest resources in the program but it will reap many benefits.  The management needs to develop an effective communication system in the organization.

This would enable proper communication of the business’s expectations to the foremen. Additionally, the foremen will be able to create interpersonal relationships with the hourly employees. The human resource management must set meetings with the employees to discuss the problems they experience in the workplace. This sets a framework for improving the working conditions. Question 6             It is important to set high expectations for the workers in order to work hard.

However, the provision of adequate tools and equipment makes them stronger to perform their tasks. Additionally, the employees should feel respected and valued in the organization. The management needs to recognize and acknowledge them for their contributions. Improving communication and information flow in the business helps to enhance performance and efficiency. The employees and managers will develop stronger interpersonal relations that are vital for business success.             In conclusion, low wages, lack of communication and training, and poor working conditions lead to job dissatisfaction.

Dissatisfied employees are less likely to achieve the expectations. Human resource management should find ways to motivate and inspire foremen to improve their performance.
