Based on the evaluation, I have measured that the website of the Sofitel Luxury Hotel has been designed in such a specific manner which can express and share several information about itself to the customers in order to satisfy them. Specially, I have noticed in the company’s website that it has special facility of checking availability of its all kind of services. Apart from this, the company provided information regarding the features of each and every luxury rooms and business galleries in order to attract more customers. Sofitel Luxury Hotel Website and Learning Process
After my study, when I have viewed the website of the Sofitel Luxury Hotel at that point of time I have realised that how a food and beverage company maintain its competitive advantages in the market place. At the time of evaluating the website, when I saw the picture of foods and services, during that point of time I have realised that through virtual field food and beverage companies can attract large amount customers. On the other hand, I have realised the efficiency of the company in terms of quality product and services.
Ways to Improve Quality of Websites
According to my point of view quality of the website is satisfactory. Thus, I believe that improvement is not necessary. During the analysis, I have noticed the website has demonstrated each and every service which is offered by the Sofitel Luxury Hotel. Even the online booking facility is also available (Sofitel Brisbane Central, 2014).
Reflection Journal: International Food and Beverage Management course
Over the years, it has been seen that tourism and hotel industry has developed its performance through its quality food production and by offering adequate services to the customers. According to my opinion, it can be affirmed that in order to earn goodwill along with profitability international food and beverage companies needs to develop an outline for maintaining the quality of the production and services. Those factors are illustrated below:
System Approach and its Application in the Foods and Beverage
In my opinion, it is highly essential for a food and beverage companies to ensure the effectiveness of the system approach. During the learning period, I have learned that in order to maintain the effectiveness of the system approach first of all any food and beverage company need to choose a correct location for the business activities. Apart from this, capacity management also help to enhance best performance. Moreover, selecting appropriate technology and skilled staffs can uplift the level of performance. Simultaneously, in order to enhance the performance of system approach and its application, food and beverage companies have to gather information about the market.
Element of Food Production
According to my view, food elements need to maintain a certain quality in order to satisfy customers. On the other hand, equipment which is related with the food production process and service has to maintain a certain standard as per the infrastructure and decoration of the food and beverage companies.
Methods of Food Production System
On the other hand, during the study I have realised that method of production is also essential for a food and beverage company. Apart from this, I have also learned that production can be done in several ways such as jobbing production, batch production and through production line. From the study, I have observed that jobbing production is utilized during the guest’s requirement in hotel industry (Sharma, 1999). Similarly, batch production is used on a regular basis operation (Mottershead & Woods, 2003). Besides, I have understood that production line is used to produce sequential products with a short span of time (Hui, 2006).
Selecting Foods & Beverage Service Systems
According to my opinion a food and beverage company needs to maintain a consistency in terms of quality of the services and also need to maintain its competitive advantages in order to ensure its profitability. Apart from this, a food company needs to provide hygienic food in order to maintain its goodwill in the market. Moreover, international food and beverage companies is required to provide different set of services according to the consumer requirement such as family service for family members (Cousins & Coskett, 2007).
Team Work Experience in the Course
I have learned and witnessed several things during the study international food and beverage management course. The involvement in the coursework offered me with an insight that working in a team result in enhancing knowledge base and skills. . According to my belief, hotel and tourism industry perform their operation in global market as a team player. During the study, I have realised in order to uplift the performance level and goodwill, international food and beverage companies need to focus on teamwork. During the study, I have noticed that if a restaurant wants to develop its market share and profitability then the company need to design a plan which can uplift the performance of the restaurant. During the planning, the company needs to emphasise few factors such as total quality management, appropriate production management according to various requirement of the customers and service management. Apart from this, the companies need to concentrate on storage procedure for raw materials and ready food items. Moreover, the company also needs to focus on environment internally and externally. From analysing these factors, I have understood the importance of teamwork in case of Food and Beverage industry.
Virtual Field Trip Website
According to my opinion, the advancement in the information and communication technology (ICT) has facilitated international food and beverage companies with an opportunity to attract substantial customers towards their products and services. In this regard, I believe that creation of website is the most effective intermediate through which Food and Beverage Company can attract several customers. It can be also asserted as a platform from where a company can expose its food products quality and services quality in the international market. During the study, I have also realised that in order to establish a food and beverage business, a company needs to design its own website in order to promote its product and services in front of the international market.
From the different prospect, I can improve my learning through evaluating several food and beverages companies’ websites on internet.
