The paper "Technology Bundling and Organisational Change: Veolia Water’s Sustainability" is a wonderful example of a case study on business. Modern organizations must deal with an incredible flux in the business landscape, particularly in the movements of the market as well as the degree by which risks and opportunities emerge with the capabilities and challenges posed by variables such as technology and globalization. For many, some semblance of flexibility and adaptability are preferred in order to survive the cutthroat competition and volatility of the market.

There are organizations that tend to address this area by focusing on disruptive technologies and innovation (Christensen 1997; Cusumano, 2010). Indeed, the strategy that combines these elements is proven to drive sustainability because it guarantees a capability for differentiation, fast time to market, and the ability to disrupt the industry, rendering previous competitive advantages obsolete (Kordon, 2009, p. 207). However, while this strategy is popular in the high-technology industry, many engineering and heavy machinery companies find it insufficient since they have different operational characteristics such as the sale of high capital products with long life cycles; and, the limited scope that affects the capability for innovation and disruptive technologies.

For this type of company, a different strategy is called for. This paper proposes the utility of bundling technology in the industry and will be established in the context of a case study involving Veolia Water, a water management and treatment company. Veolia Water: Background VWater, previously known as Vivendi Water, is an operating unit of Veolia Environment (group), a leading provider of integrated environmental services in the entire world (GWI, 2013b). It is headquartered in France, which remains one of its most important markets.

Along with water, VGroup consists of Veolia Environmental Services, which provides waste management services to municipal and industrial clients; and, Dalkia, which focuses on energy services. group – through these three divisions – has at least 2,500 subsidiaries operating in more than 75 countries (Veolia Environment, 2013a).
