Ethical Dilemma Ethical Dilemma A case of a working in order to raise school fee creates ethical concern because it denies the student the opportunity to enjoy full opportunities provided through the schooling system. However, the conditions that have led the student to engage in job while attending school are beyond his control. First, since the student comes from a single family it is probable that he has to meet his own needs. Second, the family might not be having an alternative way of generating income to meet the surplus needs such as taking the student to school as opposed to buying food or paying house rent.

Third, the student might be facing moral support, which is essential in influencing his further education. Lastly, the societal conditions might be favouring student work relationship. This last condition is quite evident in most communities; however, it contravenes the law. The above instances call for a decision, which favours the student future as opposed to exerting pressure on his or her attitude towards doing the job. I feel that the school should source aid for the student in order to influence his attitude towards attending school.

The aid would psychologically influence the student because he will develop the attitude to stay in school. Largely, the assurance about the future outcomes are critical, thus addressing the future through a sustainable way would resolve the dilemma. Consideration such as student background, grade and participation in community activities are instrumental to scholarship awarding committee. It is arguable that the overall grade of an individual might not reflect the potentiality of the person.

The social trends as observed in the student case are critical to the grade the student would receive. While it is arguable, that admitting the student with D contravenes the standard set for the scholarship. It is important to consider other factors that influence education. The drive to work as the student go to school is not an option but a condition necessary for his livelihood. This means that the source of aid would transform the student condition to a better condition. The decision does not comprise or water standards but it solves the problem of the student.

For instance, if the school expels the student or if the institution offering scholarship does not consider these special conditions, the problem of the student will continue. Further, the problem would lead to low grades, thus influencing the potentiality of the student. The future of this student relies on the decisions, which would transform his current condition. Social influences define the choice that a student would make (Pearson, 2012). The student’s decision is critical to the future but the present supersede the future.

In essence, the work that student would be doing is vital for the future sustainability. The decision to source aid for the student would create an opportunity for the student to perform better. Further, the decision would influence the societal perception towards finding lasting solutions to needy students. Although policies in education define the age, which should be in school, as well as the age that should work, the conditions of the above student put self above the policies. In conclusion, the student case attracts social attention where the corporate responsibility such as educating a needy student is worth consideration.
