The paper "What Are the Traits of a Perfect Employer?" is a good example of an essay on business. A good employer is a key to a company’s success. A good employer is one who achieves a perfect balance between himself/herself, employees, and the needs of the company. “The traits of a great manager might vary based on our own personality quirks and even the stage of our career” (Logar, 2008). Although a good employer should have a number of good qualities and personality traits, I personally believe that a perfect employer is the one who at least possesses the following five traits:

1. Leadership

            A good employer is the one who possesses good leadership skills and the ability to motivate his/her employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the company. A good employer is the one who motivates and inspires employees to get skilled in providing excellent customer service to the customers. An employer who possesses leadership skills is able to show the right direction to the employees, regarding the solution of all sorts of personal and professional issues. Leadership refers to the concept of controlling the behavior of employees and guiding them to improve their individual performances.

2. Tolerance

            A good employer is one who tolerates minor mistakes of employees and guides them properly. He/she does not punish them for minor mistakes, rather, he adopts a friendly approach to help them correct their mistakes. “A good boss realizes that because employees are humans too, some things are truly beyond their control” (Kane, 2009).

3. Positive Attitude

            A good employer shows a positive attitude towards his/her employees and work. He/she encourages employees continuously and makes them feel valued and appreciated.

4. Discrimination

A good employer does not discriminate among employees on any base. A good employer has an unbiased nature and takes all decisions on merit. White (n.d.) states, “Workplace discrimination occurs when an individual is treated differently when applying for a job, or while at his job, as a result of his protected status”. It is the responsibility of employers to take effective measures to stop workplace discrimination. Discrimination is something that discourages employees. Therefore, a good employer is one who keeps discrimination on the side while taking important decisions.

5. Decision Making

            Decentralized decision-making is one of the good qualities of an employer. A good employer involves his/her employees in decision-making processes. A good employer is one who values the input of employees and makes them feel their importance for the company. Employees prefer to work for such employers who respect their viewpoints.
