Nowadays most of the business opportunities and orders are posted online. This means that business providers need to be well integrated with supplier systems through online facilities. The infrastructure of the business model needs to be updated. But this is not an easy task for small businesses. E-based procurement is possible only with a well-maintained network on the internet. This requires a lot of financial and technical necessities which could not be supported by small businesses. On the other hand, Big businesses are well equipped in these facilities which are a very critical factor determining their successful business developments.
These requirements can be easily supported by big businesses. The reason is their established infrastructure and financial backup. But in the case of small businesses, there are a lot of constraints. They cannot generate enough finance to meet the tender requirements. Thus they are unable to grab these big orders which handicap their development.
Quality assurance certifications are one of the primary criteria to qualify in the competition of procuring orders. There are varieties of certifications that are indispensable to meet the purchase order requirements. These certifications need large scale investment of time and money.
Large buyers indeed analyze the operational capabilities of the suppliers so that they are assured about the timely delivery of their requirements. Big businesses have a well-established infrastructure and facilities which act as assured eligibility for winning large orders.
