Executive Summary C-Cyber Restaurant, unlike the traditional cyber cafe, offers a unique dining experience. It offers a solution to an increasing demand. Currently there is a demand for internet and computer access in each and every venue. The public wants: (1) 24/7 access to information available on the internet (2) to be able to enjoy cost-effective internet access while away from their homes or offices and (3) internet access in a social setting. C-Cyber Restaurants goal is to provide a social, educational and entertaining atmosphere for worldwide communication. This goal of this business plan is to obtain financing in the amount of $10,000. The supplemental financing is required for the procurement of equipment as well as to cover a small portion of the operating costs for the first year of operations. This company was successful in securing additional funding from (1) The personal savings of Chris in the amount of $15,000 (2) $5000 from each of three investors. C-Cyber Restaurant will operate as a limited liability corporation as a means of protecting the owner, Chris ________________ as well as the other investors from any personal liability. The structure of the corporation would be such that the individual investors will be, for purposes of liability, treated as shareholders with only their personal investment at risk. The financing, as proposed will successfully enable C-Cyber to open and maintain its operations for the first year of operation. It will enable C-Cyber to provide its customers with a full service dining experience while enabling our business customers to facilitate communication outside of the confines and constraints of an office. Essentially, it allows individual business people to work while they enjoy exotic cuisine free of the worry of loss of communication. Additionally offers the unique and innovative environment that is required to provide the customers with an atmosphere that will facilitate socialization. Successful operation in year one will provide C-Cyber with a customer base that will allow it to be self sufficient from the second year on. Objectives C-Cyber’s objectives over the course of the first three years in business include: The creation of a unique and innovative environment that will set it apart from the local restaurants which offer traditional services Educating the community on the Internet and the information that can be gained through its utility The formation of an environment which brings together excellent cuisine, people of diverse backgrounds and the desire for 24/7 internet communication Cost-effective access to the Internet. Mission With the phenomenal growth of the Internet, 24/7 access has been quickly becoming less of a novelty and more of a necessity. C-Cyber provides communities with the needed internet access, a wide variety of culinary treats, and the ability to share internet experience in a safe and comfortable environment. Individuals of all ages and interests can come together and benefit from the unique, educational and innovative environment C-Cyber provides. Keys to Success The keys to the success for C-Cyber are: The creation of a unique and innovative atmosphere unlike any other. The establishment of C-Cyber as a community hub for fine cuisine, business communication, socialization and entertainment. The creation of a user-friendly environment wherein beginning users are provided with the necessary help to alleviate their fears and apprehensions with regards to using the computer. C-Cyber will position itself as an educational resource for individuals wishing to learn about the benefits of the internet. Great cuisine which includes both traditional American dishes and West-Indian dishes. Risks The risks involved with starting C-Cyber are: Will there be a demand for the services offered by C-Cyber in this region of the country? Will the customers be willing to pay for the service of C-Cyber? Will the cost of accessing the Internet from home drop so significantly that there will not be a market for an Internet Restaurant such as C-Cyber? Service Description C-Cyber will provide its customers with full access to the Internet and common computer software and hardware. Some of the Internet and computing services available to C-Cyber customers are listed below: Access to external POP3 email accounts. Customers can sign up for a free C-Cyber email account. This account will be managed by the C-Cyber servers and accessible from computer systems outside the C-Cyber network. FTP, Telnet, Gopher, and other popular Internet utilities will be available. Access to Netscape or Internet Explorer browser. Access to laser and color printing. Access to popular software applications like Adobe PhotoShop and Microsoft Word. C-Cyber will also provide its customers with a full range of computer classes ranging from introduction to the personal computer and the Internet to advanced software classes. These classes will be conducted in the afternoon, late in the evening and Sundays. By providing these classes, C-Cyber will build a client base while ensuring that the customers are familiar with the services we offer. The computers, Internet access, and classes all work together to establish an environment which would be unique to C-Cyber. Good food, specialty drinks and bakery goods would provide our customers with a comfortable environment and much of the feel of a second home. Competitive Comparison C-Cyber will be the first Internet restaurant as such, it will differentiate itself from the cyber cafes in the area by providing a unique combination of cuisine and full service computing. Technology C-Cyber will invest in high-speed computers to provide its customers with a fast, cost-effective and reliable Internet connection. C-Cyber will continue to upgrade and modify the systems to stay current with communications technology. One of the main attractions associated with an Internet restaurant, is the state of the art equipment available for use. The rationale behind the use of state of the art equipment is the fact that not every individual has access to a equipment of this caliber at home. Market Analysis Summary C-Cyber is in the unique position of being the first Internet restaurant on the Southwest Coast of Florida. The consistent popularity of exotic cuisine combined with an overwhelming interest in the Internet, holds the potential to be a winning concept in that Internet cafes have constantly gained popularity throughout the country. C-Cyber restaurants is merely an extension of this concept and if one were to judge from the success of cyber cafes, an entire full service restaurant can only be much more lucrative. Market Segmentation C-Cyber customers can be divided into two distinct groups. The first group being computer novices who are not at all familiar with the Internet and are simply waiting to be introduced to the power of the Internet. The group would be individuals who are familiar with the Internet and would like to experience fine cuisine while they use the Internet. C-Cyber’s target market consists of individuals between the ages o 18 and 70. This is in fact a very large age range and can be accounted for by the fact that both exotic cuisine and the Internet appeals to a variety of individuals. A further subdivision within C-Cyber exists whereby the majority of our customers are students and business people. See the Market Analysis chart and table below for more specifics. Market Needs Factors such as current trends and sales data ensure that there is a huge demand for both exotic cuisine and the Internet will continue to rise at a consistent rate over the course of the next five years. The exponential growth of the Internet and online services, is one that has been witnessed throughout the world. Currently, there are 1,093,000,000 Internet users worldwide. Within the past year, the Internet use has increased by an average of 6.25 million users per month. In fact within the United States, 69.6% of the population are Internet users while as many as 90,000,000 individuals remain non-internet users (Global Village Online, 2007). The implications of this are great in that the potential for the recruitment of new Internet users remains very high. Market Trends A market survey was conducted in the December, 2006. Key questions were asked of seventy-five potential customers. Some key findings include: 55 potential customers said the idea of accessing the internet while enjoying exotic cuisine was an excellent one and they would be willing to pay to access to the Internet while they dined on fine cuisine. Ten dollars an hour was the most popular hourly Internet fee. 43 potential customers indicated that they use the Internet to communicate with others on a regular basis and there are times when communication is urgently needed.. Strategy and Implementation Summary C-Cyber plans to employ three main strategies. The first strategy centers around attracting beginning Internet users. It operates under the assumption that by creating a user-friendly environment for novices, they would show an interest in learning to use the Internet. In so doing, C-Cyber will develop a loyal customer base on which we can build. The second and perhaps most important strategy focuses on attracting the power users who are constantly on the Internet and are extremely familiar with the Internet and all it has to offer. This group of individuals is in need of 24/7 Internet services and hold the potential of being a motivational force for our beginning users. They possess the knowledge and experience that beginning users find most attractive in computer users. The final strategy focuses on establishing a social environment for C-Cyber customer base. This social environment is one that provides entertainment as well as a professional atmosphere to attract customers. Reference Global Village Online (2007).
