Harvard Business Case-Pitney Bowes Inc. Q There are certain jobs that Pitney Bowes researchers identified that certain individuals and small businesses found themselves needing to do on occasion. He found that owners of small enterprises are multi-tasking to the extreme and that they deal with several roles on a daily basis. The functions include certain tasks as buying stationery, office repairs and not forgetting the activities of the core business. Most companies are also struggling with chronic and overload levels of disruption.
Research has evidence that &8 % of the people do receive 100 emails on a daily basis. The email overload is one of the discovered stresses of the workplaces. It is evident that the founders of Stamps.com did identify the same jobs to be done (Cefkin and Melissa, 2009, p.57).Q 2). The reason that caused the Pitney Bowes team to lose focus on something that did this job, and instead end up with a postage meter at a price point can be discussed below. The reason is when the experts of the company began to predict the advent of the letter less and paperless, Pitney Bowes replied by investing heavily in measures of diversification.
