Personal ment Question This happened sometimes back during my final year exams in high school. It was during the examination period and I was remaining with my last paper, which was on a Monday. The weekend that culminated in the Monday test, I opted to go out for some entertainment with my friends since I was soon relocating from that locality and most probably, we could never get to see each other soon. Ironically, they were both done with their examination and I was the only one with a remaining test. I decided to have fun then on Sunday evening I would then embark on serious business of revision for my examination. All went well for fun and games but unlikely at the time we were returning home our vehicle got a mechanical problem that derailed us on the way for more than six hours. I began getting frightened reason being I would not have enough time to study since my paper was scheduled for early Monday morning. Apparently, we had to wait for long before we would fix the problem, and I managed to arrive at home at ten in the night. I was really exhausted from the numerous activities of the day, in addition to, the derailment of the journey. I took a big risk since by deciding to have a nap with the intention of waking up at around 3 A.M. the following morning to do my revision. I regard this situation my biggest risk because my history of waking up early is bad and undependable. Moreover, given that I was very tired the chances of me managing to wake up early were minimal but I still took the risk Therefore, having promised myself that I will make it up early the following morning and do thorough revision for my final paper, I slept sound asleep. Lucky enough, I heard the alarm despite the exhaustion and managed to get up and do my revision. However, given that my learning curve was quite overwhelming, I decided to tackle topics only I considered desperate and left out those ones that seemed natural. In addition, I went through a couple of past examination papers, which I presumed would be repeated by chance. However, because time was limited, I engaged in revision for long time and arrived thirty minutes late for my paper. I explained to the instructor the reasons that culminated to my lateness and fortunately, he allowed me into the examination centre on condition that no additional time will be permitted. Nevertheless, I had a conviction that despite the obstacles I was facing I would strive hard to get the best grades. Thus, with all my determination, I answered the questions diligently and managed to finish the examination on time. Apparently the paper was easy to me because most of the examination questions came from the tough topics I went through that morning. Therefore, I was convinced that I will perform well in that particular paper and fortunately, when the results were out, I was amazed that performed well in that paper than all of my other papers. It is from this instance that I came to realize that people work best when they are under pressure, and it is the self-drive in a person that determines their chances of succeeding. Thus, the obstacles that come our way, are part of the journey and thus, we should not let them distract us from pursing our goals (Stelzer, 2007). Question 2 To the people, I will be working with be it in class or any other co-curriculum activities I am a dynamic individual who embraces numerous changes that occurs in the environment where I exist. Thus, I am flexible and ready to listen and buy into the constructive ideas of other people as long as they are in line with my principles and the general objective of the team. I appreciate diversity among people in every measure; thus, the need to be tolerant of the weakness of others is necessary since we can never be the same in equal measures. I am a good team leader from my past experience in high school and other forums that I have successfully lead team members to achieve results. Thus, given a chance I would motivate and inspire my fellow team players by building and maintaining an authentic relationship with each one of you so that we can achieve greater heights of success collectively. Moreover, I am a positive critic who will often challenge people just to encourage and create a sense of self believe in them so you will just get used to my criticism since they are not meant to undermine or demean anybody but just for the purpose of encouraging and building each other. Further, I am a free person who is ready to engage in positive criticism with any other person to ensure we challenge each other to better team results. I am also a good time manager who outlines his goals before hand with deadlines and miles competitively set to achieve results promptly (Stelzer, 200). Therefore, most of the time you will hear me emphasizing the need to keep time because it is a culture that I have developed over time, which I think is desirable and should be emulated by others since it has helped me achieve my goals within stipulated time frames. Notwithstanding I am a team builder. Thus, I value team work in many of my endeavors because I believe collective is imperative in achieving results in a more easy and efficient manner. For instance, all through my education and the charity works I have participated, teamwork helped us accomplish many activities within the shortest time possible. Thus, I believe through teamwork we can collectively accomplish a lot as team members, in addition to, to setting a base for others to emulate by recognizing the importance that teamwork plays in achieving targets and goals (Stelzer, 200). Question 3 Academically, I have always marinated an excellent run right from my primary education up to high school I have always been a top performer particularly in Mathematics and business studies. Those are my strong areas, and I wish to specialize in that line once I get a chance to further my education. Thus, despite coming out successful in my education, it is worth to note that I come from an unstable financial background in the sense that my family is not able to cater comfortably for my education. All along I have been benefiting from bursaries and scholarships but fortunately, I have made it this far despite all the odds and I give glory to God. Notwithstanding most of the time I participate in community development activities such as cleaning the neighbourhood, attending to the elderly and other activities that I am called upon to undertake. Therefore, I fancy being associated with these activities since I believe that service offered to humanity is services rendered to God. Mahatma Ghandi is my inspiration and thus, through the sacrifice that he made for his people I take it as a challenge to engage in activities that will impact the next generations and make me be remembered as someone who touched and changed the lives of millions of people. Conversely, philanthropy has always been the thing that I want to pursue once I complete my education and become stable. This is driven by the life experience that I have undergone through as a person, the kind of support and believe that people have had in me together with many others who invested in my education. Thus, because my education is a product of works of philanthropy, I will strive to my level best to give back to society to touch lives of people just the way mine was transformed by the unselfishness deeds of others. Moreover, I embrace diversity in society that is why I am ready to embrace different personalities irrespective of gender, race or religion as long as we are bound by similar principles, goals and the will to transform the society. For my leisure time, I like offering voluntary services with the Red Cross organization since I am a member of the group. Thus, most of the time if I am not in school, I will be working with the organization in saving the lives of people. Alternatively, I am a rugby player though of late I do the sport seldom due to tight work engagements in school and voluntary work but given a chance I can an excellent fly half in a rugby team. That notwithstanding, innovation is one of the skills that I possess, which will come handy in my computer science. All throughout my educational journey I have always tried to come up with easier alternative models of solving problems. Locally many solutions that are prevalent in the market, may at times be too cumbersome to implement; thus I always see the need for trying something new that could otherwise solve the problem in an easier manner. Naturally, I am a critical thinker who analyzes situations and promptly comes up with solutions. My problem solving skills have been tested during my work experience where I face numerous situations that require urgent critical decisions to be made. I have always stood up for the moment and initiated the process of problem solving and in most cases my teams have been able to solve different problems amicably something that has earned us recognition.
