Religious harassment Religious harassment I chose this topic, religious harassment, because of the feelings that people from different religious backgrounds have at the workplace. Many people seek employment in various organizations that may have strict religious requirement enshrined in their terms and conditions of employment. Many people feel harassed when issues of religion are highlighted either through statements, posters, or company policies.I learned what constitutes religious harassment and the legal ramifications that are attached to it.

For example, I learned that enshrining conditions in the employment terms that infer coercion of employees to abandon or adopt particular religious practices amount to religious harassment. I also learned that the employers need to evaluate all the work conditions and circumstances in order to assess and determine specific remarks or conducts that are unwelcome by different religions.The topic, religious harassment, is important for my career in that I now understand the best practices that must be employed by both employees and employers in the workplace.

Through the topic, I now understand what is expected of employers and employees in protecting freedom of religion.The topic, religious harassment, is related my business courses due to the nature of the business world. The world has become a global village, and people from diversified backgrounds meet and interacts to conduct business. Therefore, it is necessary to understand religious issues, especially what constitute religious harassment in workplaces.In conclusion, I chose the topic because of its sensitive nature in the workplace and the growing diversity in business organizations.
