Mahathir Mohammed: A LeaderThis paper aims to discuss Mahathir Mohammad, who has been the fourth prime minister of Malaysia. As a matter of fact, economic development in Malaysia during his era of being prime minister was fast paced. It will not be incorrect to state that Mahathir Mohammad inhibited a mixed approach towards leadership. At one point, he believed on providing the economic freedom and education to the people of Malaysia while on the other hand, he presented an authoritative way to spread regulations and new order.

After careful assessment of the development and leadership that he undertook for the Malaysian people, I consider him as a hero who understood that the correct manner to spread development was by authority and practice of power within legal terms (Ridley). However, there are some of the controversies that have been made associated with the name of Mahathir Mohamed. These included the suspension of media channels that were spreading negative agenda against Mahathir Mohammed. It was merely because the competitor political parties wanted to diminish the developmental procedures of Mahathir Mohammed (Ridley).

As a contradiction, it was noted in the book entitled, “The golden apple: changing the structure of civilization” written by Edgar J. Ridley that Mahathir Mohammed could be an inspiration for the government of United States. It is because that he made use of effective leadership to unite people of his own country at the first place.
