The company was founded in the year 1975 and is highly popular for its ground-breaking IT products and continuous innovation in the fiercely growing global technology market. During the period of the 1990s, the company has been identified to build its landmark and monopoly market through introducing groundbreaking technological products in the global market. Since the last few decades, Microsoft has built its highest valuation by manufacturing a large number of diversified software as compared to the other organizations across the world (Economides, “The Microsoft Antitrust Case”).

However, the organization has been identified to experience a number of legal allegations across its extensive global market operations as well. In this regard, during the year 1991, the company was reprimanded by the US Department of Justice due to its violation of the set code of conducts in manufacturing Personal Computers (PCs). According to the allegation, it can be ascertained that the company was reproached by the government for not incorporating internet browser along with the overall application programs that are to be installed on the PC.

The infringement of the governmental regulation had been performed by the company as it was mandated by the government to install internet browser during the production of PCs (The United States Department of Justice, “United States Of America, Plaintiff, Vs. Microsoft Corporation, Defendant”). More significantly, the allegations made by the United States Department of Justice and the District of Columbia can be highlighted in this regard to be determined as amid the few the major claims faced by this IT giant in the year 1998.
