This report is going to look into the reasons as to why people did not attend the events and camps, by conducting a pestle in addition to customer and competitor, analysis. Furthermore, the report will look at market research and problems faced, and how to resolve these problems by research. Organization and Service Analysis CAN-Q is among the oldest colleges in Qatar that provide high learning to the local residents since 2002. The college has a staff of over 650 personnel and a student body of 4600 students. The institution has excellent sporting facilities, which range from football, tennis and basketball courts to the fully equipped male and female gyms. There are two male and female swimming pools located in their respective gymnasiums. The pools have lifeguards who work round the clock, shower and locker room facilities, maintained in top condition. The target market for these facilities is the staff and students of CAN-Q. Both the staff and student are constantly encouraged to make use of these facilities to balance work and exercise and to keep fit and fresh to perform their roles even better. The service gets a fair amount of promotion through email, posters and flyers and even through word of mouth among the students. Moreover, the service is free of charge to all the staff and students in addition to the alumni of CAN-Q. Pestle Analysis This is the section where one conducts environmental analysis of the situation surrounding the sports day in CAN-Q. The result of this will bring a better understanding of the pros and cons around the college. Political and Legal The National sports day is a political initiative made by the ruler of Qatar. Therefore, the college has to comply, complete its responsibilities as part of the initiative, and deliver the high standards expected of it. The college also has to ensure that it follows the rules and regulations of the country in regards to sports. This includes services such as providing first aid etc. Economic The institution has had a strong financial standing for a long time, and it has the means and ability to organize top of the line-sporting event for the National sports day. If there was need for more economic assistance the government, who is the sponsor will definitely be able to offer additional funds to the college. Social Socially, CNAQ has a duty to make sure that it aligns itself with the customs and culture of the National Sports Day. It has to make sure that there is gender balance that is males and females get equal space in different events. In addition, other social customs have to be taken care of, especially those relating to female participants. Technological CNAQ has all the necessary technology and equipment required to make sure that it can organize an outstanding sporting event. However, the college organizers have to make sure that the equipment are in proper working conditions, nothing is defective, and that proper labeling and warning of equipment that can be dangerous is done. In addition, the college has to ensure that it has adequate medical suppliers to deal with any sort of injuries. Environment Qatar experiences harsh summers and mild winter. Therefore, the organization of national sports day I early February means the participants can experience the cold weather, which is conducive for sporting events than in the summer. The college ensures that it organizes the events during comfortable weather to attract participants. Competitor Analysis CNAQ faces competition from other sporting establishments as well as other educational institutions in terms of getting more people to attend their sports day events. This competition includes Aspire and Qatar Foundation as the main competitors because they also offer highly developed sports events to the residents of Qatar. Aspire This is the local sporting complex sponsored by the government of Qatar. It has top of the line facilities and staff. It organizes the largest sporting event in Qatar. Aspire is capable of using these high quality facilities to attract the staff and students of CNAQ. Another advantage that Aspire has is that it can know in advance any upcoming events courtesy of its government contacts and thus prepare even better for such events. Qatar Foundation This is a complex of various universities around the world. It also has some modern physical activities facilities in the country and allows people from the outside to use them for a fee as well. It has basketball, tennis, football courts as well as multiple fully equipped gyms all staffed with qualified staff and trainers. In addition, they also have independent sporting events as well as training classes happening throughout the year. However, they are located far from CNAQ, and it is not always easy for people to go there. Customer Analysis The main customers of the service that CNAQ provides on National Sports Day are staff and students of the college. Thus, it is much easier for CNAQ to determine how to properly promote this event in the college and effectively implement it. The students range from age of 18 to 30 in the college of both males and females. The student body has 4600 full time students who can be considered the market for the services offered on that day. Marketing Research Problem As per this information, the market research problem is “how to get more information on why the staff and students did not attend the National Sports Day event at the college.” To answer this question one will need to get more information on why the National Sports Day at the college was not successful and how to improve it next time. Research approach The appropriate approach for this challenge is to conduct exploratory research in the start and then do some descriptive research, which will bring an understanding of why the students and staff did not attend the sports day in larger numbers.
