In 1880, Frank C. and Edmund B. Ball founded the company from the BBGMCo (Ball Brothers Glass Manufacturing Company which produced glass jars in Muncie, Indian. It wasn't until 1998 that company would relocate to Colorado. After it's founding in 1880 and developing a reputation for manufacturing producing glass and canning jars, the Ball Corporation expanded it's interest into avionics, metal beverage, food containers.

The Ball Corporation has established itself in the global business world as a leader in green technology and ecological sustainability. Their push to use less materials worldwide has been commended by authorities on the environment and ecological commerce. Their sustainability report has been the main source of their stock increases over the years due to it's records showing that Ball Corp has significantly reduced its factory emissions worldwide by a hundred thousand each year between 2005 to 2007.

The Dow Chemical Company is involved in over 170 countries and their international expansion is mainly accomplished through acquisitions, for example their recent international acquisition was just carried out earlier this year. In April 1, 2009 Dow expanded their international influence by acquiring Rohm and Haas Company, a global specialty company. Strategies and positioning in each market The Dow Chemical Corporation has taken the strategical position of becoming more ecologically sound with its practices.

They employ over 22,000 workers in North America, 1,315 workers in India, Middle East, and Africa, 13,659 employees in Europe, 4,011 employees in Asia and 4,161 workers in Latin America.
