London Eye Project Context, content and objective of the conference/seminar: I choose to analyze a seminar I attended on the topic ofQuantum physics held in London at Max Planck Institute for the history of science in the memory of Max Planck on his sixtieth anniversary 2007. At the conference tribute to a great scientist in physics Max Planck was presented by experts in the field of Quantum Physics all over the world. The other objectives of the conference were to give a common ground to the scientists and experts all over the world in the field of Quantum physics and how their researches are beneficial for the business professionals related to businesses depending on Quantum physics (Max Planck – Biographical). Modern day leading industries like electronics and telecommunication are based on the basic principles of Quantum physics. This conference and Max Planck institute not only provides a common ground for experts all over the world to share their innovations but also created an opportunity for companies and individuals that want to choose and earn greatly in the businesses related to this field (Joas, Lehner & Renn, 2008). Content: The major content besides presenting a tribute to the rightly said father of modern physics Max Planck, were research papers regarding different innovations made by experts present all over the world. This conference was also held to raise awareness in business professionals and companies aware of the importance of modern phenomenon in physics for the progress of them as companies and individuals (Joas, Lehner, & Renn, 2008). In the attended conference experts and business professionals from all over the world were gathered at single place. Properties like investigation of the issue were addressed at the conference as most of the modern industry is based on the basic instinct as business professional must have. Character property like investigation of every aspect either positive or negative related to project or product should be a part of a person as it is required on daily basis to analyze the impacts of project/product positive or negative on organization and customers as well in modern day industry (Joas, Lehner, & Renn, 2008). Listening to all the experts that are like stars in their field of science business really helped in communicating verbally with people. Dignitaries from all over the world present in the conference. It also helped understanding the concept of inter-race communication. Research papers by major scientists and people relating to industry were presented in the conference. I can feel a great enhancement in my written communication skills by reading these research papers. Modern day phenomenon of informed consent is also improved by reading the papers written by business icons (Joas, Lehner, & Renn, 2008). Personal development skills on employability: It is a common sensed argument that one can excel greatly in the business profession if he knows basics and modern innovations made by industries and individuals all over the world. Innovative steps are taken on every day basis regarding electronics and telecommunications. Knowledge of the product or service provides a great aid when talking about development of personal development skills and their impact on employability. As an example one can drive a car more safely and efficiently if he/she knows basic limitations of engine, brakes and suspension of the car he is driving. Other personal development skills are like one skill to work as an analyst, planner and organizer, team leader and technical knowledge regarding the business one is involved are dependent on the basic knowledge and innovations that are done in the field of that specific business. Another personal development skill required greatly by organizations and as a satisfaction of an individual as business professional is the ability to investigate. One can do critical analysis, critical thinking and profit based analysis of the product produced by its own self or company he is working for if he has basic and new ideas knowledge regarding the product (Jobs). Conference under discussion present all the information regarding the basis of electronics, telecommunications and nearly all the modern day industries that are directly or in directly related to these. A closer look on today’s life of human will lead to a conclusion that nearly every aspect of modern man, smart phones, smart televisions, energy saving automation is dependent on these two industries. A common example, How can one explain energy saying capability of LED television when he/she has no idea about the energy consumption of LEDs? He/she can demonstrate properly to the customer if he knows about energy consumption of LEDS. It is also an amazing factor to be known, there are millions and billions of people connected with each other with the help of this field in the shape of cell phones and computers. Some years back it was a dream for most of the people of the world to communicate with each other in the way they are communicating now days. Services like voice over IP, practical example application called Skype were once dreamt by people are now used by common people at a much cheaper rate. Help in future Career: Conference that was held in London not only provided the participants about the basic knowledge of the concepts related to the industry but also made participant aware of the innovations taking place in the businesses that are dependent on the field of Quantum physics. I would also like to add that institutes like Max Planck’s institute that gather information from all over the globe regarding the history and development that is made in the concepts of Quantum Physics and industries that are dependent on this development play an important role regarding personal professional development in the most of the greatest industries and businesses related to them. It really helped me when talking about personal development as a business professional. Conference created more interest regarding the instinct of investigation and critical thinking present in myself and these skills are also required by most of the modern day companies. Employers mostly see the employability properties like playing effective role in projects that should be completed as a team (leadership skills are mostly idealized by the companies and human resource manager present all over the world in this scenario), a good knowledge regarding problem solving (nature of problem can be managerial or technical both can be handled effectively if one has total command over the product assigned to him/her), analytical and critical thinking skills that are explained earlier are of major concern while one is recruiting some newly business graduate. Another personal development skill that aid in employability of an individual are characteristics like verbal and written communication an employee must have for imposing a developing impact on the whole organization. Academic courses relating to communication skills can improve one’s capability to work as an individual. But in order to create a heavy impact product knowledge is one of the most important weapons available to a person as a professional. I attended this workshop and it really increased my knowledge and interest in the field modern electronics and communications. Since 20th century’s industrial revolution a known quotation “Bringing imagination into reality” is told to be a goal aimed by different industries. Both characteristics imagining and bringing that imagination into reality is one of the most creative personal development skills that can make a person from a normal employee to necessity of industry. These characteristics are mostly natural but one can have a part of it through both science and literature fiction available to them. It is also an amazing factor to be known, there are millions and billions of people connected with each other with the help of this field in the shape of cell phones and computers. Some years back it was a dream for most of the people of the world to communicate with each other in the way they are communicating now days. All of this once was a dream for human kind brought into reality by untraditional, real and hard work done by communication engineers all over the world. Most of the famous personalities known by the world today are famous due to their way doing untraditional thinking. People like Planck, George Washington and Nelson Mandela of which two them awarded by noble prize Planck and Mandela are famous because their way of untraditional thinking. Untraditional thinking leads to the creation of more creative ideas and application of these ideas. Thinking might be opposed by traditional or conventional thinker yet firm in belief and total command over the business issue promises a bright career for an individual as business professional. Same principal is followed by present business icons of the world also (Jobs, 2013). Another personal characteristic a business professional should have is the understanding and application of phrase “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Companies and industries of modern day heavily demand professionals that are capable of understanding ever growing needs of consumers and ways to fulfill them in a cheaper way. For example, web based businesses demanded a great necessity of electronic money or e-money and security of that money online; understood by the business professionals and the whole concept of electronic money and its usage was introduced as a result of this necessity (Jobs, 2013). Conclusion: Formation of organizations like Max Planck Institute and gathering all the work done in field of solid state devices, lasers and all the industries on which modern electronics and communications are based considered truly as land mark achieved by city of London in modern day. Science is a global phenomenon now days not owned by a single country or region. London once considered being a city with pavements made of gold. This city not only provided the whole world with industrial revolution. This city once provided centralization to whole of the world; even now this city is providing centralization to all of the England and countries that lie under the flag of United Kingdom like Australia and Newzeland. London Eye Project is considered as a land mark achieved by human kind when talking about globalization of technology, medicines and business in 21st century. Same as institutes like Max Planck Institute can not only globalize the entire knowledge and innovations in the field of quantum physics but can also centralize investments made by different countries and to make discoveries in this field. There are innovations and discoveries made on daily basis in this amazing field of physical science. It is a known fact that communication engineering is the industry which is not only giving high rates of profit to corporations, companies and individuals but they are also responsible of bringing the world together. The advancements and innovations happening on the daily basis in the communications and amount of investments that is done on daily basis even sometimes hourly investments is providing a glimpse of a bright future this industry is having for individual even fresh graduates like me. Modern world is considered to be a global village in near future due to huge advancements, investments and innovations used in the field of communication engineering. Most of the developments like basic wireless communication that laid foundations for the development of modern day Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) were introduced during Second World War (Ren, 2008, Jobs 2013). It is also a cause of great excitement when one knows about the history and people behind the product which we are using. We believe in durability of cell phones and lap tops yet we are those people who know nothing about what they believe. This belief changed our lives. What was world before all these innovations? To answer questions like that one should have idea of scientific development world had suffered for a better professional life and to be a leader. It is necessary to develop more institutes like Max Planck’s Institute; for better knowledge about facts related directly to our lives. London Eye Project is a land mark achieved by modern day man. Participating in such conferences as future business professional not only enhanced my knowledge regarding one of the most profitable industries and importance of having a total command over all the aspects related to business and product was cleared to me. People having good knowledge, leadership qualities and untraditional way of thinking are successful ultimately.
