GOOGLE Google is an organization made up of determined and smart people who learn via the thorough and wide Google experience. Even though Google is made up of people from dozens of different cultures and languages but the visions and goals of the company are persistent and are focused on the world-wide audience Google serves. Everyone at Google Inc encompasses each other’s ideas and goals towards one prime objective- the success of Google (Brin, Sergey, and Larry Page). This successful journey of Google began in 1997 when Sergey Brin and Larry Page decided that the Black Rub search engine they were currently using at Michigan University needed a new name. That was when Google was born. Several days of brainstorming resulted in a name called ‘Google’ which is still used today. In august 1997, a $100,000 check was signed by co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim for Google Inc. which didn’t have any existence yet. Google’s first work place was established in Susan Wojcicki garage in the following September. On September 4, Google filed for incorporation and after that, Sergey and Larry opened a bank account in Google’s name and deposited the check signed by Andy (Brin, Sergey, and Larry Page). In December 1998, Google was reported as a search engine for Top 100 Web Sites for 1998. In 1999, the garage office was abandoned by Page and Sergey to move to 165 University Avenue located in Palo Alto with a team of eight employees. The first non-engineer, Omid Kordestani joined in May 1999 as a salesperson. In August 1999, Google Inc. moved to its first Mountain View area at 2400 E. Bayshore. It was few miles from Stanford University which is north of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and San Jose (Battelle, John; pgs 130-140). In 1999, Google realized that its search engine can exist on its own, and emphasize on something that most competitors were reducing focus on – a total emphasis on search and no cluttered homepage. The logo was a bit ugly at that time but this problem was solved in 2000.  On April 1, 2000 Google came up with Mental Plex which introduced the capability of Google to read a person’s mind as he or she visualizes the search results he or she wants. In May 2000, first ten languages of Google.com were released. First Webby Award was given to Google as Technical Achievement (Vise, David A, and Mark Malseed; pages 30-40). June 2000 marked Google’s partnership with Yahoo to become Yahoo’s default search engine. The first billion URL index was also announced in this month and Google became world’s biggest search provider. Google survived the contagious Y2K bug in 2000 and was named the ‘Best Search Engine’ by Internet Life Yahoo. In September, 2000 Google Inc began to offer other languages such as Korean, Japanese, and Chinese; thus bringing the total count of languages that Google offers to fifteen. The AdWords was launched with three hundred and fifty customers in October. This self-service advertisement program gives online activation with credit card, performance feedback and keyword targeting. Google Toolbar was released in December 2000 which makes it easier to search without actually visiting homepage of Google.com (Vise, David A, and Mark Malseed; pages 30-40). In 2001, Google Inc. came up with new services such as Google Web Directory, Google Groups, etc. 2001 can be considered the year where everyone in the world knew Google; however its growth has been rapid since its growth. Google began to show how many pages you have searched above the search box (this feature did not survive though). In February 2001, first public acquisition of Google was taken by Deja.com which is an archive of 500 million user net discussion. Google was now offered in twenty six different languages and image search was launched giving an access to about two hundred and fifty million pictures. First international office was opened in Tokyo (Vise, David A, and Mark Malseed; pages 100-120). In August 2001, Eric Schmidt became the Chief Executive of Google Inc. Larry became the president of products, and Sergey of technology. In October 2001, Google established a partnership with UOL (Universo Online) which made Google available to millions of Latin American people. In December 2011, the price index of Google grew to about three billion web papers (Kraynak, Joe. Google. Hoboken; pages 89-100) In the February of 2002, Google aligned with Klingon as it began to serve as seventy two of language interfaces. The first Google hardware was introduced in February too which is a yellow box with ‘Google Search Appliance’ written on it which any business can plug into computer network to allow for search abilities for its own files and papers. AdWords was replenished with new cost-per-click costing. Google also introduced blue tabs on the top of search box. The first web blog started in 2002 also which became popular among the customers (Kraynak, Joe. Google. Hoboken; pages 89-100) On April 1, 2002 the pigeons’ power was introduced by Google on its search results. A set of API’s was released in the following month as well which enabled to developers to search two billion web pages and files including Perl, Visual Studio, and Perl. A partnership pact was signed by AOL in May which offers Google sponsored links and search to thirty four million customers using AOL.com, CompuServe, and Netscape. A Google lab was also released in May which is a place to try beta technologies fresh from Research and Development team. During the September of following year, Google News was launched with forty thousand novel sources. The first Australian office opened in Sydney in October 2002. The Google Product Search opened in December 2002 which was known as Froggle at that time where you can search for products to purchase (Scott, Virginia A. pages 40-100). Google was voted to be the most useful Word of the Year by American Dialect Society in January 2003. In February 2003, Google acquired Pyra Labs by Blogger creator. A novel content- targeted advertising service was announced by Google in March of 2003 which enabled both large and small publishers to access the huge advertisers’ network of Google. After a few weeks, Google acquired Applies Semantics, who also protects AdSense service (Scott, Virginia A. pages 40-100). In April 2003, Google Grants was launched with its one of a kind advertising program for non-profit firms to run advertisements for the cause. Registrations for programmers began in October 2003 to compete for both recognition and cash prizes. These coders are allowed to work with C#, C++, VB.NET, or Java. In December 2003, the Google Print was launched which later came to know as Google Book Search, by the name it exists today. In 2003 however only small excerpts from the book were available in search engines (Scott, Virginia A. pages 40-100). 2004 was the beginning of Google moving into social networking as Orkut launched a way for Google to enter this arena. In 2004, Google removed the tabs on top of search box, so that page was made simpler and company was made public. Now Google offered a list of links such as Images, Web, Froggle, Groups, with no Directory and a ‘More’ link was added to list of services by Google. This advancement was liked by many people and is still loved by millions of people worldwide. (Scott, Virginia A. pages 40-100). In February of 2004, Google’s search engine had six billion items, with 4.28 billion web articles and pages and about eight hundred and eighty million pictures. In March of 2004, Google Local was introduced which is still offering pertinent neighborhood maps, business listings, and directions to the area. But later it joined with Google Maps. On 1st of April, 2004, Google announced a new research endeavor called Googlelunaplex which was on moon. The opening price of Google Inc on the stock exchange was $85 per share of Google Inc when it first listed shares to public in August, 2004 (" Our history in depth "). In September 2004, more than hundred Google domains were introduced. Today, the list is beyond one fifty. In October of the following year, first office of Google opened in Dublin, Ireland with around one hundred and fifty multilingual Google employers. Google SMS Service came into existence during October as well by which you can send your text search queries to GOOGLE or if you want to send with your cell device then to 466453. October was the most happening month with Google Desktop search as documents and files on hard drive can be searched with Google technology. Google Scholar was launched too giving an access to scholarly literature. In December 2004, Google Book Search (former Google Print Program) extended to libraries of Stanford, Michigan University, and Harvard via digital screening partnerships (" Our history in depth "). A milestone in picture search was accomplished in February 2005 with 1.1 billion images on the index. It was this February that the famous Google Maps was born. In March 2005, code.google.com was launched which provided a new area for developer associated resources with APIs. Urchin was purchased in March as well which is a web analytics company whose technology can be used to make Google Analytics. During the April of 2005, first Google Maps for Europe is launched which is actually for United Kingdom. Now Google Maps is available with new features of directions and satellite views. Google Local moves to mobile devices as well with SMS driving directions. The My Search History was launched in Labs which allows view of all Google searches and web pages you have visited anytime (" Our history in depth "). During this April of 2005, Site Targeting was also launched by Google in which the AdWords feature is now given to Advertiser giving them the power to better target their audience according to customer specifications. During May of the same year, Blogger Mobile was introduced by Google which enables bloggers to make use of cell phones to both send posts and pictures to their blogs. Google Scholar also received support during the same month for institutional admission as now searches can locate articles within the institution own libraries. iGoogle, the personalized homepage of Google, was also introduced which is specially for people who wish to customize their homepage according to their own desires (" Our history in depth "). In June 2005 Google Earth was made public so that it can be used by the general audience all over the world. Gmail chat was released in February 2006 making use of instant messaging tools from the feature Google Talk. Also, several blog posts were introduced in this May 2008 which explained many features of good search outcomes on Official Google Blog. On 1st April, 2009 the prank played by Google was CADIE which is called ‘Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity’ who was able to take over most of Google’s products before destructing it. Later in the following month, Toolbar Labs was introduced and Google Labs was redesigned. During May of 2009, Sky Map for Android technology was introduced with new features such as rich snippets and Search Options panels in search results. In June 2009, new ways were brought in to customize the iGoogle page such as the iGoogle Showcase which helps people see the homepages of their celebrities, add gadgets, and add more to those pages on individual bases to add natural themes. A search option for Google Images was also launched in this year in July to make it much easier to find pictures you might need. Languages such as Icelandic, Macdonian, Swahili, Belarusian, Afrikaans, Yiddish, and Welsh were added to Google Translator in August of 2009. In October 2009, an agreement was signed with Twitter to allow for their updates in the search results (" Our history in depth "). In the January of 2010, Nexus One was introduced by Google which provides people an exemplary Android on cell phones. Google Docs was also updated in the same month. The novel approach to business in Chinese market was not to censor anything as now nothing could be censored on Google.cn but Google is still trying to find a search engine which is uncensored and unfiltered. In October 2011, one billion download marks was reached by Google and latest version of Google Translator was also an achievement of this month. This version included Conversation Mode which allows you to translate the speech in fourteen languages back and forth. In collaboration with Samsung, Galaxy Nexus was designed in the same month with Android 4.0 known as Ice Cream Sandwich. In Tunisia, the Talks channels allowed the Tunisians to allow for questions to the political candidates in proceedings of landmark’s free elections. Several other updates became part of Google plus in the October of 2011 (Google; pgs 100-140). In November of 2011, Gmail was redesigned which featured the new HD themes, conversations, smart routing and many other amazing features. Hajj, the largest pilgrimage on Earth was telecasted live on YouTube in November 2011. Google Gobbler also allowed you to make your own home page to rejoice Thanksgiving in United States n November 2011. Mapping the indoors was a new frontier for Google also introduced in 2011 which also hosted Google Maps for Android Beta. A novel Google bar came into existence which allows any individual to find a new way for all of the Google’s services (Google; pgs 100-140). Google.com/elections were held for one-stop shop for trends, news, and also online tools for the elections in 2012 held worldwide during that year. Search plus Your World which is the next step to be to change Google search engine comprehends not just the content of the website but also relationships and people. Google Inc gave a ‘doodle’ to Adam’s Family creator on his hundredth birthday. United States President Barack Obama after State Union used a hangout and Google Plus to give answers to the questions that citizen asked him directly.
