? A critical theoretical and visual analysis of my experience of work A critical theoretical and visual analysis of my experience of work Work experience is something which is very important not only for a strong curriculum vitae and financial benefits but also for one’s self esteem and self motivation. My work experience taught me two very important things, firstly managing emotions at work and the other one is realizing the importance of team work. During my work experience I had faced situations where my favorite project was cancelled though I worked very hard on it, also there were times where the customers treated me badly though it was totally unfair, my best friend at work was terminated, my colleagues were being unfair towards me and also my boss use to shout at me although I was really working hard. All these things pile up and you feel like shouting at the top of your voice or probably run away from your work. At work showing your emotions especially negative emotions can seriously harm your professional reputation along with the productivity. Stressful situations are very common at workplace where we have to deal with budget cuts along with department changes. It becomes very hard to deal with your own emotions in such circumstances. There is a lot of work load along with a constant push of getting promoted and becoming more efficient. It was very important to know how to handle your emotions in such circumstances. It is important to know how to react in bad situations. It is important to always share positive emotions, both ways constructively and also professionally. It is very important to have that in a workplace. The picture reflects few very important emotions which are experiences at work, from frustration, irritation, anger and aggravation being majorly negative along with worry, nervousness, dislike, excitement and being happy. There are few strategies which can be implemented so these emotions can be dealt with wisely. This picture depicts frustration and irritation as if you are stuck or trapped and not able to move forward in so many ways. Frustration can be a major problem and block in having a positive attitude at work along with causing other negative emotions like anger .I dealt with frustration at work by evaluating things properly , finding something positive about the situation. It is important at work to avoid anxiety and worry. I made a worry log where I would write down all the worries which churn my head and then tried finding solutions to the problems. Physical relaxation plays an important role here with proper risk analysis. Anger is another important factor which is very obvious in the picture, anger management is very crucial at work in order to achieve success, we need to properly deal with unfair criticism. It is very important to be respectful towards others and also to be assertive if the other person is rude and unprofessional. Disappointment can be dealt positively by keeping a proper check at one’s mindset and to adjust the goals properly. My work experience taught me that smile is a very important and also a very crucial factor which helps in solving many problems. We all have to deal with negative emotions and we have to learn how to cope up with them as it is very important. It is crucial to know what type of feelings cause such emotions and also how you can deal with them before they become very prominent. The other picture I have selected is depicting the importance of team work in an organization and how a good team can make work experience a very memorable one and amazing, and a bad team can sabotage the experience and also affect your performance negatively. Now there are few things which are important to analyze before going for team work that includes why the team is developed, what can make teamwork successful, group dynamics overview along with encouraging positive and productive groups. The picture is showing why the team is made and how various individuals with similar interests and objectives can make things work for organizations. The team work is basically originated with and built so that relationships among group of people sharing similar interests and purpose. When teams are built they allow different individuals from different programs and market to play different roles, which is either staff role or volunteer role or client role or even consumer role. There are many reasons why developing team is important which is to keep employees along with reduce costs related to the turnover coming from employees. It also increases and enhances power and feeling of satisfaction, along with organizational competence and stability .There is always power in combining the talent of many individuals along with increasing efficiency of individuals along with the entire group. The picture is clearly showing how team work helps in promoting communication along with sharing knowledge and skills where the environment is such that it provides input for all levels and it is valuable. It also helps in supporting shared decision making. Team members help in generating new ideas along with insights, it helps in creating new knowledge through learning and working along with others. The climate is created which brings innovation and new ideas for the organization. The teamwork can be very successful if the objectives are clear. Now the question is who needs to be in the team and who should not be in the team. Chemistry between the team members is very important. The staff members, board members, volunteers, clients, consumer, customers and also outsiders can all come together in developing teams. The team members should get along with each other. Establishing time frame for the completion of team work is another important factor which is analyzed and it is seen that team work sometimes takes more time compared to individual work. Team communication needs to be highly efficient and it is important to make sure less time is consumed. Minutes of meetings, email along with list serves and websites are all important factors in team communication. Team work now brings another important working perspective into light which is work relationships. Group dynamics which basically talks about groups and group processes. Work experience should be such which helps in avoiding controversy along with conflict and serious issues. Now group work also includes storing where the issues are addressed and discussed. Now norming comes into view which is the stage or point at which the roles and responsibilities are divided and decided. Group members are listening to each other and the point of view of each other is discussed. Performing now comes in where the people are flexible and also interdependent. Adjourning is where group development is taken into account and sense of achievement is the purpose. Companies should always focus on encouraging positive groups; the groups formed should focus on group along with tasks. Collective tasks should be clear and also make regular group tasks so that everyone should be focused and it helps in recognizing group efforts along with individual efforts. In a group both verbal along with non verbal communication should be clear, there should be a proper focus on importance of keeping commitment which is made to the group and also group members. It is important to realize positive contributions which are to the group. In group work it is important to realize training in problem solving and also to understand conflict management to the group members. Both the pictures clearly depict different dynamics of the workplace and both these aspects are very crucial in a working environment.   Bibliography PICTURE 1 PICTURE 2 Heather, John.
