Competition – A Factor to Achieve an Excellence Introduction To start with, whether business brings in competition is hard to predict because there are more than a single reason available to find out how competition will weigh in success or drawbacks for the business under consideration. What is important is the manner in which competition will shape up business decisions and even day to day understandings which will be reached upon by the people in general. Would it facilitate in achieving excellence might be an understatement or perhaps taken in a totally different light altogether. How this will shape up the individual life issues is something that shall be comprehended within the length of this paper. Analysis and Evidence It is a fact that in order to achieve excellence, it is important to raise the bar by competing in a head-on manner. What this will do is to tell the people around this individual that he means business and should always be respected for what he does and how he commits to things which are on the top most priority for his own self. These are significant undertakings that shall be understood in order to bring in success which can only come up when competition has been realized upon (Porter 1998). Therefore what is most necessary here is an awakening that competition will bring in complete usage of strengths and resources, which will eventually tie in a point of success. Since competition is usually doubled with experience that an individual has within his folds, it is always good to realize this point in essence. One must comprehend that business avenues are no different and they have the same competitive rivalry existing within their folds (Mallaby 2003). What is different however is the fact that within business, there is a collective effort which is not the case within the individual endeavors that take place on an individual level. Competition is the basis of attaining new achievements within one’s own repertoire, and it helps in assisting one to fathom how he can explore his truest self within the changing dynamics (Vautier 1999). It must be believed here that competition brings in more good for the people than bad, as it assists one in comprehending the finer details with one’s own strengths and what one can achieve in a given period of time. It is also a fact that competition will raise the bar of expectations within the people as far as an individual is concerned. It makes the people realize how significant this individual is, and how imperative it is to comprehend how this person will take on new ideas and resolve conflicts that mar his very domains (Akst 2007). Competition asks of the people to give their best, because they want to look different and unique yet excitingly fresh within their approach. What this means is the fact that competition shall bring in success for the individual under consideration as he will derive the best mileage for his own self when he compares himself with the people around him. If people know that they are not within a competitive regime, they will fall flat and not find out what their real strengths are, and how they would move ahead with the changing times. People think differently when they know that they are undergoing a competitive exercise. They start to believe that their undertakings are being closely monitored and that they need to give in their very best time and again, so as to bring value and quality within their tasks and undertakings. When a person does not involve himself within competition with some form of task that he has set his eyes upon to do it in the best manner possible, there would be staleness around him, and he would experience absolutely no motivation to go out there and make a difference, for his own self as well as the people around him in entirety. People view competition in a number of different ways and settings – all of which depends a great deal on how they view life and its varied undertakings. Competition also creates jealousies within the people because it makes the individuals realize that they are either better off than others or lagging far behind when there is a clear cut race at hand. For an individual to understand that he can move ahead in life, he must do away with the jealousy tangent as this shall take him forward and make him rise up and high within the competitive arena. It will ask of him to understand how he can view the different nuances of life when his vision is set to achieve something new and drastic within his life. The complexity that comes ahead with the competitive hierarchies is difficult to pinpoint because the people feel the pinch who are around this individual, more than anyone else. It would also make the person feel elevated with regards to the environment around him since competition is a positive aspect in essence. It does bring out the best amongst the people all said and done. Competition is vital as it assists one to feel that he can be better than the people around him, and thus manifest his truest basis through hard work, tact and planning – all of which play an important role within the molding of his personality. Conclusion In the end, it would be proper to state that competition is something which poses as a point of advantage for the individuals on a long term basis. It facilitates the level of growth and development within an individual and makes him realize how good he is at certain tasks and undertakings. It allows him to manifest the real ‘him’ within his own self. This is a very important aspect and one that should be discussed at length by the people who believe in the dictum of competition in essence. For this reason, competition is usually seen with skepticism by some people as well (Simmel 2008). They believe it will create rifts and raise the amount of jealousy that exists amongst different sets of people. However what they forget is the fact that if someone wants to go one notch above his own self, he must involve himself with the competitive norms and procedures that engulf his life in one way or the other (Malveaux 1996). This would make the individual feel elated and satisfied with the way works get done within his aegis. Therefore it would be correct to state that competition is for the wellness of the people at large and should always be welcomed with open arms by the individuals within any society of the world.
