Your full full June 02, Article Analysis Agricultural subsidies have always played a significant role in the farming industry of the United States. Distribution of nearly $10 to $30 billion dollars each year to the farming industry in terms of farming support, crop insurance, marketing loans, disaster aid, and some other programs facilitate farmers in doing their businesses and producing good amount of crops every year. However, the current structure of subsidies needs to be repealed because of some considerable issues, such as, redistribution of wealth due to farm subsidies, damage to the national economy, and damage to the U.S. trade relations.

The article is written by a member/writer of the Cato Institute, which focuses on the downsizing of the Federal Government. The mission of the organization is to create awareness among people about the hidden aspects of the policies formed by the Federal Government, whereas the vision seems to be reduction of costs by the government. I think the bias in this article is the projection of negative views about agricultural subsidies more than its positive aspects.A Statement of Skepticism:The writer has neglected, misunderstood, and ignored the effects of agricultural subsidies on farmers and has written more about effects on economy and prices.

A Statement of Enthusiasm:The way the writer has categorized agricultural subsidies has made it easy for the readers to understand the ways agricultural subsidies are used in the farming industry.Multiple-Choice Question:The 2008 farm bill added a new sugar-to-ethanol program under which the government buys ______ from farmers.Excess local sugarExcess imported sugarExcess imported ethanolExcess wheat crop Works CitedEdwards, Chris. “Agricultural Subsidies.” GATO Institute, Jun. 2009.
